McCain Tweets: ‘Sorry Mr. President,’ My Son’s Dog ‘Not On The Menu’

McCain Tweets: ‘Sorry Mr. President,’ My Son’s Dog ‘Not On The Menu’

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) weighed in Thursday on the presidential race’s latest dogfight — about dog meat.

In response to the running controversy about Mitt Romney having once taken his dog for a long family trip in 1983 by tying the dog’s carrier to the top of a car, some conservatives have highlighted a quote from President Obama’s memoirs, in which he briefly discussed his boyhood experience of having been fed dog meat by his stepfather in Indonesia.

McCain, whom Obama defeated in 2008, has now posted this message on Twitter, linking to a slideshow of various politicians’ pet dogs over the years:

@SenJohnMcCain

Classy. Having McCain on the campaign trail is good news for Rmoney. I hope he helps to pick Rmoney's running mate.

In a prior topic, it was discussed that one of Mitt's friends killed a dog for eating, while insinuating that it was due to drunkenness and just plain douchery.

Where, I considered eating dog due to culture was fine.
It is different when you are a child fed something to being a grown man doing something to be a jack@ss.

I liked the 2000 McCain, he became ridiculous circa 2006.

to President Obama he is worse than I ever remember him being. It seems now that he knows he'll never have a chance at the presidency he's showing his true colors.

I use to think he was just a phony with all that moderate crap. I never understood how people couldn't see how phony he was. Now he doesn't even fake being moderate anymore. He's a piece of shit! Ugh!

McCain never "blew up an aircraft carrier and killed 134 men." The rocket was fired from a plane across the deck from McCain and struck the plane parked next to him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967_USS_Forrestal_fire

Being fed something as a child is different from if he ordered it served last week, then shot the White House chef if they protested.

Romney was an adult and making his own informed decision.

One incident is the story of a 6-year-old kid in an unfamiliar environment. The other is the story of an adult inflicting trauma on a dog. These are supposed to be comparable somehow?

I am sure he was fed some things he did not want to ask what it was as a POW... Yup, that might have included rat and dog

And I would blame him for it as much as a six year old, aka none at all.

Soon your political career will be over, and any good vibes from you (POW, so-called maverick) will be overshadowed by your bitterness over losing the presidency by making stupid comments like these, doing everything you can to keep DADT alive even when the military told you they wanted to abandon it, etc.
