Correction: Bolger was previously referred to as an animal control officer, however he is a Baltimore City Police Officer.

The trial for an animal control officer a Baltimore City Police Officer who slit the throat of a dog who had escaped from its home was set to begin earlier this month, however, the trial was moved back.

Officer-Jeffrey-Bolger Officer Jeffrey Bolger is facing felony animal cruelty charges after he slashed the throat of a 7-year-old shar-pei named Nala.

1. Awful.

Recent Daily Show did a segment on training police not to kill animals unnecessarily.

I don't recall the city, but a representative of the department said they got more calls when cops killed a dog than when they killed a person.

at least he is being prosecuted. Wish that was true with cases which people are murdered and the officers or a "neighborhood watch" person goes free.

Is the life of a dog more worthy of criminal charges, indictment and trial than the life of an African American child? Did the dog pose such a threat, that the man feared for his life? That's often the excuse used whenever an African American child is murdered. Was the dog's barking too loud? An African American child's music was too loud. Did the dog charge? An African American child was accused of charging while eyewitnesses say the child's hands were up in an international sign of surrender.
I have a pit bull, a 90 lb. lapdog, the breed's bad reputation is just as misunderstood as an African American child, I have two of those. I've never had a Caucasian person compliment me on how well behaved my children are, but they'll just walk right up to my pit. I've raised them all equally as well.
Maybe you should reexamine yourselves to see if the "FEAR" isn't really "HATE And JEALOUSY" as required in 1 Corinthians 11: 28 - 30 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Or maybe we should stop pretending to be Christ - like!!!!!

Maybe killing unarmed African American young men will be considered worthy of charges and a trial someday.
