I love that scene in "Stripes" in your sig pic. John Candy's line was great too- "Dr says I swallow a lot of agression . . . along with a lot of pizza" One of my favorite movies.

(364 posts)While I agree with some aspects of Damon's comments, I'm one of those who are both disappointed with Obama, understanding of a difficult position, but still feeling we are better off then we would have been.
To some degree, Yes, the current two party system is serving the interests of everyone except the American people. Until we get all the money out of Politics, I don't see any major changes in the near future and this type of change is gonna take some time, but at least there is now some indication that people are finally getting pissed off enough to begin the process.

(364 posts)Most of the inhabitants can tell you more about the lady who had 52 babies then they can their Overlords, and mindless TV and movie screens are prevalent there too. They are also dumded down like earthlings, so like here, more people may know about Matt Damon's comments, but little about what political experts say. Besides, in the Alternate Univers Faux News plays incessantly on all TV stations by direct order of President McCain, so people go to speakeasy-like cinemas to watch bootleg movies smuggled in from Earth.

(18,630 posts)Matt Damon's Dedidated to Barack Obama Campaign
BY: WENN | Friday, October 24, 2008Actor Matt Damon is so determined to see BARACK OBAMA win the U.S. Presidential election, he has vowed to be on hand to support the Democrat in any way he can. The "Bourne Identity" star is a staunch Obama supporter--and even launched an attack on opposition John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin last month, insisting it would be "absurd" if they were elected.
Damon is heading to Florida this weekend to work with the Obama campaign on promoting the November 4 vote in a key state. And despite flying to Morocco to work on a movie straight afterwards, Damon has promised to stay in contact with the campaign in case there is anything else he can do.
He says, "I'm sure I'll be on the phone over there after filming every night. I'll do telephone interviews or whatever they'll have me do. I want to sprint to the finish with the millions of us who really have been desperate for this change. The Obama campaign has decided to focus on the positive, and I should be a bigger man and be able to do that with them."

(364 posts)Thanks for posting. You can really sense how excited he was back then and of course the recent article indicates a little change in heart.
