McConnell turned this into a mud wrestling contest from the beginning. Too much of a negative current for Grimes to overcome. Being called so early means its not close and does not bode well for other contests.

a Democrat who refused to admit she voted for Obama! She says, "Vote for me I am a Democrat but i am too afraid to say if I support the man you Republicans are so viciously attacking! I want to pretend I have nothing to do with him"
Sound like a courageous winning strategy to you?? Or more typical Democratic pussyfooting around in hopes of appeasing the marching bulldogs of the right? 41. I still think she made the right decision...although we knew this is how they would spin it.
I think Alison did the right thing by staying out of the racist politics stirred up by the Republicans. Mitch said Obama was on the ballot. Alison said, "No, it is my name on the ballot". It would probably be easier to beat someone who's not even on the ballot and is very unpopular in your state than it would a strong, independent Kentucky woman, don't you think? She was smart enough to escape their little trap. But evidently, not enough to win? I hope she makes them sweat and does not give a concession speech until every single vote is counted.
