(103,856 posts)that's why so many newcomers get in when someone retires or dies.
Baucus & Harkin should have run one more time, and then retired in 2016..

(2,807 posts)don't hem and haw about whether or not you voted for your parties' SITTING President.
Just an observation. I gotta say, that hacked me off pretty good. Enough not to go out and vote? Doubt it, but definitely hacked me off.

(1,103 posts)McConnell turned this into a mud wrestling contest from the beginning. Too much of a negative current for Grimes to overcome. Being called so early means its not close and does not bode well for other contests.

(1,085 posts)a Democrat who refused to admit she voted for Obama! She says, "Vote for me I am a Democrat but i am too afraid to say if I support the man you Republicans are so viciously attacking! I want to pretend I have nothing to do with him"
Sound like a courageous winning strategy to you?? Or more typical Democratic pussyfooting around in hopes of appeasing the marching bulldogs of the right? The party that has refused to give an inch and the party that not long ago so many here were righting off as dead..
Now lets hear the attacks on my for telling the f*** truth!

(594 posts)President she probably would have won. People sometimes when they fkbt have something to vote for they don't go out.
With all he's done she couldn't have said mr president come, let's campaign and PREAch To these people all the gods things we've done as Democrats.
She didn't. She lost and P. Obama is still president.

(113,195 posts)I think Alison did the right thing by staying out of the racist politics stirred up by the Republicans. Mitch said Obama was on the ballot. Alison said, "No, it is my name on the ballot". It would probably be easier to beat someone who's not even on the ballot and is very unpopular in your state than it would a strong, independent Kentucky woman, don't you think? She was smart enough to escape their little trap. But evidently, not enough to win? I hope she makes them sweat and does not give a concession speech until every single vote is counted.

(5,909 posts)and probably won't be turning it on any time soon. Pretty soon they'll be calling my state for that corrupt SOB Nathan Deal for Gov and for Purdue against Michelle Nunn.
Struggling middle-class people screwing themselves yet always voting republican over and over.
People that vote Democratic but don't realize you need to show up every 2 years, not just 4.
I like Obama more than I dislike him but don't believe he deserves the blame for low voter turnout or Dems losing throughout his presidency.
Americans are fucking stupid.
