McCain: "I see England, I see France, I see Sarah's . . ."

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) came to the defense of his former running mate, Sarah Palin, on Friday, more than a month after she and her family were involved in a drunken, bloody altercation at a house party in Alaska.

During an interview with Phoenix television station KTVK, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee said he wasn't excusing the brawl but went on to blast the media's coverage of it.

"I think these family affairs are -- I don't know much of the details about it," McCain told the TV station. "Things happen in people's families and I'm not excusing it, I'm not condemning it."

3. "Things happen in people's families...." Right Johnny. Families get into drunken brawls at

neighborhood parties all of the time. Get over yourself. Do you seriously think that if this happened to the Clintons or the Bidens the media wouldn't be all over it?

its not like you, me, and everyone else don't on occasion get drunk with the family, hop in the Hummer limo, and go raise a little hell.

4. John McCain should have to be confronted with some aspect of Sarah's life on a daily basis.

He is, after all, responsible for bringing her to the national and international stage. Why is McCain a war hero? Are there any witnessed or documented accounts of his being an actual hero, or is this something that we supposed to believe because "somebody had said or somebody had seen" his heroics.

5. And it was a long time ago and what has he done since?

No one still honors me for something I did fifty plus years ago. Yes, he is a vet and I honor that. He also more currently has been mighty destructive to this country. I am tired of the 'but he was a prisoner of war' business. Look at him today.

7. Never had police breaking up my family gatherings.

Somehow we managed to avoid that. I think it's probably a minimum of what we should expect from politicians.
