Death Cafe

www.deathcafe.com

Went to one today and it was great. People had near death experiences, many dead friends, lovers, and relatives and some were getting old enough to see death as face with visible features.

One might think this would be a maudlin crowd, but it was pretty upbeat. Some joking around, but a lot of serious talk about end-of-life issues. We all had our stories and we had some definite opinions on just how our lives are best ended. And how those good ends are so often frustrated by the law, economics, and local custom.

With the population aging as it is, there are issues here we've been ignoring for too long.

The website doesn't have all the locations (the one I went to wasn't there) but if you have a chance, see if you can get to one.

dispositions of the remains did come up. At my table, cremation was the most popular but the problem of urn storage came up if you had a really big family.

(The whole thing was more interesting than you think, and your pun would fit right in.)

not wanting to take up space and all, but now that you mention it, I may go for carrion. Hell, with the javelina and coyotes around here, I'd be gone by dawn...I fear that I may be a bit gristley.
