Fundy Christians Want A SCOTUS With All Fundy Justices.

The religious right wants an all evangelical court if they help the GOP win. The persecution complex is that they believe they are persecuted because their bible is not actually the Constitution. They want a form of Christian Caliphate. And they are organizing and politicking in the churches to get the GOP in office. I am are voter guides are in every church.

With a "Christian" version of sharia law, that includes stoning to death people *THEY* don't like.

Just like we won't get one with all atheist.

BTW I've never seen a voter guide in any church. Nor do they preach party in church, and here's why. Every congregation I know of in our area is pretty much an exact match for voting turnout. 40/60 50/50 even split D's and R's ect..., the preacher and the churches accountant know it. Wanna slow down tithing? Preach politics...just once is enough. No preacher that depends on the plate every Sunday is gonna shoot himself/herself in the wallet.

I googled "conservative churches voting guide" and got over FIVE MILLION HITS. "Print out and distribte at church" is, shall we say, a rather common phrase.

CristoFascism is what they have been selling since the 1980's.

And some are still in such denial they think we can reason with them or have bipartisan legislation with them.

Given full power the fundy evangelicals could be very cruel. They are already talking a more aggressive militancy to force their views.

Would go around executing people they did not like.

It is also why all liberals and progressives should be armed and prepared to use it.

Fundies high on Jesus will do anything, we have all ready seen them murder Doctors in Churches, bomb medical facilities and they harasses, intimidate and threaten medical personnel and women seeking medical treatment on a daily basis in America.

I consider ALL religious followers a direct threat to my personal well being and a threat to freedom. None can be trusted.

Politicking from the pulpit is another (quite illegal) thing.

If you don't see the problem, you're likely part of it.

The OP didn't say anything about politicking from the pulpit, nor did I, not did I even suggest that such behavior is OK with me. And I resent the insinuation that I did and therefore must be "part of" that particular problem. Who peed in your Wheaties this morning?

" Everyone dreams of having a Supreme Court that reflects their views. Don't you?

Nothing new about that."

It seems to indicate that their intentions are just like everyone else's and are not a big deal.
If you intended something else, your post was unclear.

"Preaching Politics" is their most observable and most common effort to gain control of the courts and the legislature. I'm sure they also contribute vast sums, both legally and illegally, but the most noticeable violation, and the most flagrantly illegal, is using their ceremonies to indoctrinate the "flock" into voting conservative.

My "accusation" should have been worded more clearly, but I'm juggling a couple of threads and I didn't take the time to be more eloquent. If I misinterpreted your post I apologize, but I think you could have spoken more clearly, also.

Rye toast and boiled egg, not Wheaties, and I kept the cats at a distance so my brekkies remained urine-free. My fervor comes from my deep distrust of fundamentalists and their apologists; if I've mistaken you I'm very sorry.

Seriously, I apologize. I don't make faux-apologies that throw the blame back on the offended. If I spoke rashly, it was because I misunderstood.

It's just a squall coming through, though and we'll see highs in the 70s next week.

Have a nice weekend, Willow.

I live in a Christian Cluster. I have no illusions as to my neighbors intentions, or their politics.

I despise and distrust Fundies.

What they do, the politicking from the pulpit, is highly illegal and they should all lose their tax exemptions, but it's gone too far for that. They're the most catered-to political-block in our system and won't rest till they own it.

"Illegal" doesn't matter to them, the only authority they recognize is their "god" and their interpretation of his will is oppress all non-believers. That includes other christian sects that don't follow their Dominionist agenda.

"Human" law does not apply to them.

Josef Goebbels would appreciate the propagandizing techniques the fundy churches use. They and Fox are his lineal descendants.

Yes, the Dominionists are directly linked to the Nazi propaganda machine through the Bush Cartel.

We are definitely in agreement on this topic. Equally impassioned by it as well.

Look around for all the state level calls for Constitutional Conventions for other reasons. If they get that then the Constitution can be rewritten to them. It actually goes beyond that, you get a CC it would be the monied interests who would write themselves in for a permanent feudalism. In the end they are using the religious nuts for their gain, what would come out would be a religious feudalism.

Even though big business is using these religionists the religionists would get a share of power. Our democracy could brome a radical Christian white supremacist caliphate. And I believe that this white supremacist movement wants a South African style apartheid. We have our own version of townships in the USA in many suburbs now dominated by minorities.

Ferguson would be a good example and I am sure there are a lot of examples in the South and even other parts of the country we would not know about. In fact Detroit is looking like a township.
