I have been crying lately, some illness in my family. Yes we get old and sadly we are dying, yet we had the chance to live our lives.

However the children should not be the ones living in fear and dying far to young. Their lives have been taken from them far to soon and in the most grievous way.

It is so very hard for most of us to put ourselves in the space of the other. We inhabit our own world, bounded by race, gender, social class, and so on. Many of us live very protected from what it is really like for others.

Even though I can accurately say I have a few African American friends, no matter where I go, no matter what I do, I am still white. The very fact that I do have those friends does help me to understand that my world is not the same as theirs.

Too many have no clue.

Many of the out of towners are not there for the good of Ferguson and Michael. They are there to exploit and incite and cause irreparable damage to the cause.

There is an concerted effort to stop justice for Michael in its tracks. Our only hope is that The Justice Dept. stops this in it's tracks. We need both truth and justice for all the sweet young men that have died.

Part of the anger was due to the fact that they were gathering and partying without repercussion in a place that the locals never did without being arrested. Cops know world is watching so they're acting differently.

Which is why folks have to keep fighting and get engaged in the community and through informed election of the officials who impact them the most.

"Stop and Frisk" needs to go.

The lack of resources to our urban schools need to be corrected so that youngsters can get a good education and start breaking the cycle of poverty.

The justice system needs to be reformed so that infractions in wealthy white communities are treated the same as similar infractions in any minority community. You can't continue to call arson, vandalism, and property destruction on white college campuses after a drunken frat party "making mischief" and call similar in black neighborhoods in response to a curtailing of the right to protest, "rioting".
