(28,394 posts)Udall was down by quite a bit a day or so ago.
I think Landrieu will pull it out in the runoff too. She always won those tight races in the past. I think Begich will win too, eventually.
Udall has been up recently in YouGov and I beleive there was another one too where he was up 6.. the only one to show him trailing right now is FOX and they are known this cycle to overGOP by like 4 plus perecntage points or more..

I notice in this thread that nobody is saying anything positive about Braley.
Is he the lesser of two evils?

Iowa GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst has been hammering Democrat Bruce Braley for missing votes and committee hearings on Capitol Hill while he was out campaigning.
Yet Ernst missed nearly 40 percent of the votes in the Iowa state Senate during 2014, as well as large number of committee meetings for the panels she serves on, state records show.
Ernst has also attended only a fraction of the meetings of the Iowa boards and commissions she has been appointed to since taking office in 2010.
-snip-
But her failure to take part in the state boards and commissions after seeking these appointments to buttress her political resume could hurt Ernst. For instance, Ernst was appointed to the Iowa Council on Educator Development in August 2013. She missed two of the councils sessions in October and November, and, by January, was no longer listed as a member of the organization. The Iowa Republican was named to the Governmental Public Health Advisory Council in early 2011. However, Ernst has apparently not attended any of the groups 18 meetings since then, according to its attendance records. Similarly, Ernst was tabbed for the Mental Health and Disability Services Commission in January 2013. However, she not attended any of the 20 commission meetings since that time.
-snip-
And Ernst took part in only two of the 32 sessions of the Statewide Interoperable Communications System Board since 2011.

Here are a few examples of Ernst's out-there statements:
Ernst has alleged that the federal government is partnering with the United Nations to force Iowans off their land and into urban cores as part of a conspiracy called Agenda 21. At a campaign event last November, she said:

She told the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition last September that federal laws can be nullified by states:

She told the Des Moines Register editorial board in May that the United States really did find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Per my colleague Pat Caldwell:

Greg Sargent reported yesterday on a 2013 Ernst speech in which she outlines her rather stark views about the relationship of Americans with their government.
In the audio, Ernst came out for a balanced budget amendment, said that would require severe cuts, reiterated her desire to eliminate the Department of Education, vowed a good, hard look at entitlement programs, and said electing a GOP Senate majority would be a key step towards all of this. She also said we are encouraging people to get on food stamps
A generation of Americans who rely on government to provide absolutely everything for them. Correcting this problem is going to be very painful. If she sounds like Mitt Romney, thats probably intentional; theres a lot of his 47% philosophy in her words.
