Tricky D and the Rabbit Trick!

House Oversight Committee Chairman and wealthiest congressman, Rep. DARREL ISSA, recently, launched a new website called “Protecting Our Workers”. According to dailykos.com “the first thing you saw was a huge picture of Robert F. Kennedy quoting him that the enlargement of liberty for individual human beings must be the supreme goal and the abiding practice of any Western society.” Guess what? DARREL ISSA’S WEBSITE IS A SCAM! A huffingtonpost.com article stated that “upon closer inspection, however, labor activists came to see what they considered a DISTINCT ANTI-UNION flavor of the website…pitched as a platform to listen directly to rank-and-file union workers. “ AFL-CIO director of media outreach stated that “the site is nothing more than lipstick on a pig – a poor attempt to shroud (Issa’s) corporate political agenda as support for working people.”
This is the same “Too Fast to be Furious” Darrel Issa who used his Committee chairmanship to WASTE millions of taxpayer dollars over a two year period, UNSUCCESSFULLY, trying to discredit Attorney General Eric Holder. This is the same Darrel Issa who hosted the, infamous, ‘war against women’ contraception panel consisting of NINE men and NO women. As the dailykos puts it – “This is the Darrel Issa who last fall demonstrated his concern for workers by a call for “massive teacher layoffs”; who has a former Goldman Sachs VP working for him as a staffer “getting in the way of regulators overseeing big banks like Goldman Sachs”; who “has REPEATEDLY used his position “to seek earmarks that benefit himself financially”, and who announced an intention to investigate President Obama “because it’ll be good theater”!
Tricky D isn’t the only one pulling the EXTREMIST rabbit out of the hat. Here are a few other examples. AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY – founded by David H. Koch of Koch Industries, also known as the “father of oil speculation”. According to thinkprogress.org “documents reveal that Koch is participating in the UNREGULATED derivatives markets as a financial player, buying and selling speculative products that are increasingly contributing to the skyrocketing price of oil”. Koch and his brother, also, underwrote millions in nationally televised ads AGAINST Wisconsin workers in support of Governor Scott Walker. Then we have ‘out of the hat’ right wing hate websites such as THE CREATIVITY MOVEMENT “whose members have been charged and convicted in over 17 acts of racial violence”; the FEDERATION FOR AMERICAN IMMIGRATION REFORM “classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center”, and the FREE REPUBLIC whose members “had to be informed by their leader to stop threatening President Obama’s life”! Pulling off the rabbit trick under the guise of patriotism and liberty is quite a feat for Tricky D and others. It’s a shame that they’ve missed their TRUE calling – master illusionists!
