My feeling is that one of the reasons the Republicans refuse to vote on war authorization is so they will have another issue to attack Obama on after the elections.
If it can be demonstrated that he committed America to a war without Congressional authorization, and it's likely that it could, an impeachment would be an easy thing to instigate since this goes against the Constitution.
Of course the Republicans are delighted that we are starting another war and wouldn't want to stop it but they could authorize continuing the war based on the fact that we are already in it but still impeach Obama for starting it without their authorization.
Could this be a possibility or am I just whistling Dixie?

It was limited to that because they knew that part would pass.
