...as soon as the rocket left North Korean airspace, it requested asylum and a hot meal and was detonated by ground control. The loss of the IPod Nano onboard is expected to be a major setback to the North Korean satellite program.

(23,864 posts)...updates to the South Korean government, Yonhap, and about three dozen other places all real-time. I don't know of another time when information gleaned from our intelligence sources has been so quickly turned around and disseminated but I figured if there was, this would be it.
I had a bunch of Twitter feeds and stuff open and once I saw 3 different sources reporting a malfunction (not retweets, for instance) and attributing the information directly to US sources, I assumed it really was right from the horses mouth.
It'll probably be a while until the next time you get real-time updates on a situation like that.
But in this case it made sense.
