Cardinal Francis George: American Catholics Are Being Forced To Live Under 'Pro-Gay Sharia Law'

Cardinal Francis George Says American Catholics Are Being Forced To Live Under Pro-Gay Sharia Law
Friday, 9/12/2014 10:47 am

In his most recent column for Catholic World News, Cardinal Francis George, Head of the Archdiocese of Chicago, wrote that Catholics in America are being forced to choose between their faith and the "State religion" which imposes "its own form of morality on everyone."

This new religion, he said, compels people to support things like abortion and gay marriage and, as a result, Catholics who refuse worship this "false god" have now essentially become second class citizens just like "Christians and Jews [who] are fined for their religion in countries governed by Sharia law":

I didn't know the government was forcing us to marry people of the same sex - or to have an abortion. Nor do I see Catholics being fined for anything.

Sharia law isn't pro-gay. Not in any way. Your comparison is bogus on its face.

but I was under the impression that the recent rulings wrt gay marriage just allowed them, not made them mandatory. The same with abortion: if you don't believe in it, don't have one.

George and his ilk long for the days when they ruled over placid, obedient, often uneducated flocks who filled the pews, kicked up to the Church hierarchy, and if they indulged in sin at least didn't do it openly.

at no risk to their standing or that of the organization which they serve with this hate speech. Every single day. It's hardly news. It's a constant and defining feature of both religion and politics today.

support Gay marriage, birth control and abortion for rape, incest & extremely deformed fetus. It is only the single male bishops and cardinals that live in huge mansions along with a few right wing radicals that want to treat women as cows and keep homosexuals in the closet.
