TX: Child Care Center "Withholds Water From Babies To AVOID Diaper Changes"

DALLAS - A Texas child care center accused of duct-taping children to mats at nap time also withheld water from children to avoid frequent diaper changes, according to an investigation by the state's regulatory agency for child care licensing.

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services said the Heart2Heart Montessori Academy near Fort Worth was likely negligent in proper care giving, a spokeswoman said on Thursday.

"The caregivers were withholding water from the children to avoid diaper changes," it said in a letter to the center without offering further details. The center did not respond to a request to comment

This is a great idea! If they withhold food, the kids won't shit either. Orrex Sep 2014 #5
Whatever, if these babies truly believed in The Lord they wouldn't need stupid things like water. nt Guy Whitey Corngood Sep 2014 #6

Open carry, stand your ground, and god knows what other barbaric laws they've passed.

Does not appear very constructivist. I was under the impression that Maria Montessori was thinking of student development, not provider laziness, while developing the philosophy. Remarkably, Texas seems to have a functioning, if marginal,Department of Family and Protective Services. And, an english speaking free press. My own LA County has what's called a DPSS which cannot keep kids out of horrific, too-frequently deadly foster care situations. See Palmdale child abuse casethis LA Times story for example. Make way! The rich get richer while the poor get babies! More headlines soon! Thanks kpete lest we dunno

I worked at a day care center. State regulations were we changed diapers, at minimum, every two hours. The parents provided the diapers, so it was no cost to the day care.
I did end up quitting, partly due to an injury, but also I couldn't stand the owner of the place. Day care is NO place to try to make a profit.
