...As of this morning in a GoFundme account.... FOR WHAT I ASK?
Wilson doesn't need money.
1..Wilson will get his Police guild Union paid legal representation for any legal cost.
2. Wilson is on PAID ADMINISTRATION LEAVE so does he really need living expenses.
Here is the text in part of an email I just received. I say a boycott GoFundme.
Dear Friend,
Over the weekend, the Darren Wilson GoFundMe pages were put on pause while tax lawyers try to figure out what to do with all the money they have raised. (1)
$433,170 more than the President makes in one year. Thats how much Darren Wilson has made on GoFundMe since taking Michael Browns life.
Thats why we need to turn the pressure up, so that this type of thing never happens again.
GoFundMes offices are located in San Diego, and we have a plan to buy some high-visibility ads so everybody in their community knows that they are profiting off Michael Browns death, and fundraising for his killer.

I'd like to see a (legit) bank statement. I think they misplaced a decimal point somewhere.

(11,065 posts)It's not his own funding campaign nor is it known whether or not he wants anything to do with that money, and he likely doesn't nor will he likely be permitted to accept it if for some reason he did.
People get to donate money where ever the hell they like and for whatever reason they like that is legal. What's it to you? Don't like living in a free country where people get to decide for themselves what to support or donate to that you don't happen to agree with? FUCK THAT.
It's not up to anyone else whether or not anyone is deserving of donations for whatever reason. Would you be ok with people trying to shut down a perfectly legitimate funding drive for Michael Brown's family if there are people that believe that having just robbed a store believed when confronted by police he was going to end up being arrested and attacked the officer and that Wilson shot in self defense? Of course you wouldn't, and neither would I. Except I wouldn't be ok with that because it's none of my damn business if people want to donate money to a cause they believe in or just to make a personal statement of support for any legal and above-board fund raising campaign.
The people donating to BOTH fund raising campaigns that sprang up because of this case and have every right to do so with their own money if they want to. It isn't up to you or anyone else to decide
Mind your own business. It isn't your money, and you don't get to decide what people do with there own money that's perfectly legal regardless of who or what they donate it to or why.
Shame on you to even want to do such a thing much less try to make it happen. Don't forget that the people that believe Wilson had a legitimate and legal reason to use deadly force can play that game, too. How embarrassing that it's you and the side you believe in that was first to stoop to such a level.
So, what's your agenda here? Don't like it that the funding campaign in support of Wilson has raised more money than the one for the Brown family or just don't like the amount? You're looking to try to shut down a perfectly legitimate and legal fund raising campaign just because you disagree with it's premiss and in the hope of the Brown family's fund raising drive to catch up? That's called cheating, and it's also lower than worm shit and underhanded.
The Brown family isn't so crass as to suggest any such thing, and to do something like that in their name is a disgrace.

(6,942 posts)...like in a previous post on this thread. We have two Americas.
Seems as of late there are "Two Democratic Undergrounds" Something has changed around here on DU, it is not the same as it was back in 2005.
If these funds do not end up in Wilson hands then this is a FRAUD.
