“The president stands squarely behind the decision he made yesterday to wear his summer suit”

President Obama’s ugly beige suit has quickly gone from stupid joke — “The president stands squarely behind the decision he made yesterday to wear his summer suit,” the White House press secretary said today — to stupid faux controversy thanks to who else but Long Island Republican Representative Peter King. “There’s no way, I don’t think, any of us can excuse what the president did yesterday. I mean, you have the world watching,” said King on right-wing internet TV today…

I saw that Twitter exploded but I don't know why. It looked like a fine suit to me.

Was it a stupid labor day clothing rule or something like that?

Now I can see that it only exposed the latent racism that had been festering under the floorboards of society. This will go down as an ugly period of US history.

The open anger that was unleashed.
And year by year it has gotten stronger and more overt since he was elected.

Part of it has been a tool, tho, used to keep both sides of the political spectrum focused on fighting each other, instead of the entire system as a whole.
Anything that provides a deep division in this country is to the benefit of TPTB, and race, religion can always be counted on.

As we fight each other in the culture war, we all keep slipping farther and farther towards poverty. And big biz just sits back and laughs.

Sometimes as an engineer I've worn black khakis with brown shoes or blue shirt and black pants, etc, and people have grumbled about some fashion rule. I just reply back that I couldn't give the slightest shit about fashion rules. I wear what's clean and comfortable. Ties are definitely a no-no. I'll only wear those at weddings and funerals.

It also proves that they'll find anything to rag on him about. It also goes to show they're more concerned about doing anything they can to find fault with this President.

I thought the suit was awesome!

It reminded me of the fashions of the original Hawaii 5-0 series.
Tan suits everywhere in that show!
And they all looked fab!!!

Reacting over his suit says way more about Obama's critics than anything else.
