On msnbc's The Cycle just now a guest John Stanton from Buzzfeed Politics was trashing Obama's foreign policy. I saw he'd written other articles trashing Obama as well. Not that Luke Russert and Abby Huntsman weren't but he was projecting disgust. Dear Chrystal Ball went along with this and turned the discussion to "feminism" about people criticizing Obama's suit..
It's a Repuke party on The Cycle some days.
So does Buzzfeed still get funding from Koch? Anyone know more?

BuzzFeed Politics now sponsored by a Koch brother
Visitors to BuzzFeed Politics were greeted by a curious sponsorship badge at the top of its page Thursday. As ThinkProgress Editor-in-Chief Judd Legum pointed out, it appeared BuzzFeed pols had been sponsored by Charles Koch of Koch Industries, the second largest privately held company in the U.S. by revenue and notorious right-wing political power players.

As for why BuzzFeed would want to partner with Koch, the answer is simple enough: Money. As for why Koch would want to access BuzzFeeds young andone guessesmostly politically progressive audience, thats a longer storybut its also about following the money. Stick with me here:
Immediately after Romney lost the November election, Republicans decided that in order to have any chance in the next election they needed to befriend Latino voters. They needed to become, as Romneys head of Latino outreach Carlos Gutierrez would call it, the party of immigration. Shortly after the November election, Charlie Spies, head of Restore Our Future, the biggest Romney SuperPAC for 2012, threw his lot in with Gutierrez and set his sights on 2016 with a new SuperPAC called Republicans for Immigration Reform.

Good news: millennials are reading. Even better news: they're reading the actual news.
It turns out that young people are not only reading newer, digital media outlets, but they're also still reading traditional news outlets like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, according to new data by ComScore. The results, published by Digiday, looked at the readership of people born between about 1980 and 2000 for new, online publications like BuzzFeed, Elite Daily, Gawker and Upworthy and compared that to the readership of older, top publications on digital like Cosmopolitan, Vogue, GQ, the New Yorker and the New York Times.
BuzzFeed came out on top for both total readership and millennial readership, with 68,748 total unique visitors and 38,499 millennial visitors. However, despite the success of these millennial publications, the New York Times still came in second for overall readership and fourth for millennial readership, with about 20 percent more millennial readers than Vice.
