1. Exactly and it has been for a long time. We elected raygun and both bushies out of fear.

4. Did you vote in the 1980 election? I did.

 

Reagan got elected because, under Carter, the economy was a mess (high unemployment, high interest rates and high inflation, aka stagflation); the Iran hostage crisis was a complete embarrassment and our response to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan was pathetic. Carter did some good things (the Camp David Accords come to mind), but on balance, he was a failure in the eyes of the country.

6. I have voted in every election since JFK and I voted for Jimmy Carter because in my eyes he was

not a failure and he was the leader of the party that I believed in. I did not trust the rethugs even back then.

Did you actually vote for raygun?

7. I voted for Carter in 1976, but by 1980, I couldn't justify giving him another four years.

 

Sorry, I think Carter was a poor president.
