GENIUS!! Guy Asked Siri for Help Hiding a Body: Cops

You know how people like to ask Siri jokey questions, like how to hide a body?

Apparently Pedro Bravo, now on trial in Florida for the strangulation death of 18-year-old roommate Christian Aguilar, didn't get the memo, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police say that on Sept. 20, 2012, Bravo told Siri: "I need to hide my roommate." Evidence presented at his trial yesterday alleges Siri suggested the usual: "Swamps. Reservoirs. Metal foundries. Dumps."

Because people ask Siri ridiculous questions all the time. I think I may even have asked her where to dump a body, just to see what she'd say.

I wonder about that too--does Siri save all those stupid questions people ask?

I'm glad I don't have a smartphone, I guess--all I have to worry about are those bums at Google tracking my every "Best way to get birdshit out of velvet" type questions!

and his roommate is dead? I hardly think anyone needs to worry about asking Siri as a joke about where to hide a dead body if there's no dead bodies actually connected to them like this guy.

Ultimately Siri is just using a basic search engine. But instead of typing, people speak their request

It appears that Siri, the automated iPhone assistant, is not a co-conspirator in the killing of an 18-year-old Florida college student.

A photo of the evidence was taken by Doug Finger of the Gainesville Sun.

In the same screen grab, Siri responded to the statement with a number of locations, including swamps, reservoirs and dumps.

The Sun reported Wednesday that courtroom testimony indicated that Bravo's phone, an iPhone 4, did not have Siri, and the screen shot was found in a cache of Facebook images on the device.

Gainesville police took to Twitter on Wednesday to set the viral story straight: “Multiple reports of Bravo asking Siri to hide a roommate are incorrect... GPD Det. Goeckel certainly did not testify to that. #BravoTrial.”

Given the joy which Apple‘s iPhone 4S users have been greeting Siri there’s been some speculation as to why it’s not been released as an upgrade to the iPhone 4. The cynic’s answer, that the joy at getting Siri might spark an upgrade to an iPhone 4S, seems not to be the reason.

http://www.wuft.org/news/2014/08/13/no-pedro-bravo-didnt-ask-siri-where-to-stash-his-roomates-body/

The accused and the deceased were not roomates. "Police" did not say that he performed this search and nor did the lead detective testify to that effect.

Bravo had an older iPhone that did not have Siri. Apparently he viewed this image on Facebook at some point.

He might well be guilty of murder, but this widely reported Siri thing didn't happen.
