So are progressives really turning from Obama to embrace Warren? Well...

Last edited Tue Jul 15, 2014, 08:21 PM - Edit history (2)

There's a Washington Post article claiming that progressives are turning from Obama to embrace Warren:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10025242021

What empirical evidence does the Washington Post offer in order to support their assertion?

None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

The author offers absolutely no evidence that progressives are turning away from Obama. The fact remains that the base of the party strongly supports both Warren and Obama. They embrace both Warren and Obama.

The MSM is seeking to divide the party in order to benefit the GOP.

Obama's approval rating among liberals and liberal dems has remained consistent throughout his presidency (around 80%) http://www.gallup.com/poll/124922/Presidential-Approval-Center.aspx.

Obama actually has a lower approval rating among conservative dems than he does among more liberal members of the Democratic party.

In other words, the base still likes Obama and always has.

The Washington Post article is a little something I like to call ratfucking 101. Write an article claiming there are divisions among dems and leading Democratic politicians. Spread it around prior to the 2014 mid terms and hope some people take the bait. The goal is to get more GOPers in Congress so they can obstruct even more and even block Supreme Court nominees if they get the Senate.

Divide and conquer.

Ratfucking 101.

The MSM is laughing.

Edit:

Also, the author is a known conservative who wrote for the GOP publication NRO.

Robert Costa, a former NRO writer and a conservative.

There are a lot of effort among Gop people to divide Democrats.

Costa is a decent writer, but it is important to understand people's perspective.

So we need to look to the future... but not look to the future. Plan for 2016... But not before we're allowed to. Give me a break. We can support both. Granted I much prefer Elizabeth Warren's anti-corporate stances versus Obama's and Clinton's pro-corporate stances on the TPP for instance. But I digress. No one is allowed to express an opinion contrary to the established politicians or else be shouted down for fear that we'll lose something. Utter nonsense. If you like the former, then support the former. If you like the latter, then support the latter. IF YOU LIKE BOTH THEN SUPPORT BOTH! This is not a real issue here.

...meant to erode support for the President by implying that the President's support is eroding.

Since President Obama will not be running for re-election, it is not an either/or situation anyway. We can still back Obama while looking forward to consider who the next Democratic candidate will be. It is not disloyal and it does not indicate a lack of support for the current office holder.

away from Obama .. just their flamebaiting divisive title.

Elizabeth Warren stumped for Alison L Grimes who is to the right of President Obama.. and it's all good.. and the WaPO comes along and states they're turning away from Obama(which is bullshit.. the Wapo would never acknowledge those people who come out for the President).

Elizabeth Warren is an intelligent woman who doesn't go in for division in her Democratic Party.. too bad about some of her fans.

Thank you, Cali!

That's all this is.

Yes we love Elizabeth Warren and hope she changes her mind about running for President (or even VP) BUT
that does not take away from our support of President Obama.

The msm can't grasp that. That requires critical thinking and they are too lazy to actually think.
