Republicans Heads Exploding as Obama Nominated for an Emmy for ‘Between Two Ferns’ Interview

First President Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize. Now, he’s been nominated for an Emmy, as a result of the interview that he did with comedian Zach Galifinakis.

The web-based Funny or Die interview of President Obama has been nominated for an Emmy Award in the Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program category.

The Obama interview on “Between Two Ferns,” using a combination of satire and wit, caused views of the Healthcare website to spike by nearly 40%. The Republicans ridiculed Obama for his appearance; calling him “desperate:”

The Daily Caller and Washington Free Beacon, both conservative news hustlers, got columns up right away declaring how awful and agenda-driven the interview was. Laura Ingraham, Katie Pavlich and Martha MacCallum, all Fox News personalities, took to Twitter and made sure to advance the narrative of the day that this was a very, very bad thing that the President did.

They also argued that it was inappropriate for the President of the United States to be “advertising a law,” or sitting down for a “comedy skit” (I can’t think of a better way to describe the O’Reilly Interview, but that’s just me):

During Fox & Friends, Elizabeth Hasselbeck said, “Some would argue that it’s inappropriate for the president of the United States to be advertising a law, an insurance plan.” This was after co-host Brian Kilmeade stated it was inappropriate for the President to be sitting down for a fake interview that was really a comedy skit. This is really rich. Somehow, Hasselbeck feels that President Obama should not be saying anything positive about the current health care law or encouraging people to sign up for health insurance.

Perhaps the Republicans deserve a nod too; if it weren’t for their slavish devotion towards attempting to stifle Obamacare, as PoliticusUSA points out, the president would never have had to take the steps he took to get the word out. I understand that Razzies are all the rage this year; that’s what you give to bad comedy programs, right?

Begala concluded:

Look, if Barack Obama cured cancer, the Republicans would attack him for putting oncologists out of work.

It's not just republicans!

If President Obama cured cancer, the loudest voices on DU would attack him for ... well ... Income Inequality, or NSA ...!

Go to any article/OP posted to DU that can possibly be seen as positive or "good news" ... look down thread, and you will see exactly what you claim doesn't happen here.

If you don't wish to look for yourself, just let me know ... I'll post a link or 10 (not that you will read it/them.)

And it was no do-you-realize-whom-you-are-interviewing-here stiffness matching to the storyline. It was an I'm-in-a-comedy-skit-and-try-to-be-funny-but-not-laughable stiffness.
