Pastor Rick Warren Wants Obama to Let Religious Groups Discriminate Against LGBT

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2014/07/02/pastor-rick-warren-wants-obama-to-let-religious-groups-with-federal-contracts-discriminate-against-lgbt-americans/

Because it wasn’t enough for Hobby Lobby to deprive female employees of comprehensive contraception coverage, Rick Warren and more than a dozen other Protestant and Catholic leaders are now demanding that President Obama give religious companies with federal contracts the ability to discriminate against LGBT employees. Because if the Supreme Court can bend over backwards for Yahweh, so can Obama, right?

It all has to do with an upcoming executive order that Obama said he would sign. The order would ban all federal contractors from discriminating against employees because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Because we don’t know what the order will say, the faith leaders are trying to make sure it doesn’t apply to religious groups. Because Jesus loves to discriminate. (The Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which the Senate passed last fall but the do-nothing House hasn’t acted upon, includes the religious exemption.)

<snip>

No church will be harmed if Obama doesn’t issue a religious exemption. If he does include it, though, he will be perpetuating the harm that many of these churches — including Warren’s Saddleback Church — have caused to people across the country.

Not very reachy-outy of him.

That's what Rick Warren's defenders said to LGBT people when this bigot was rewarded for his hate speech with the honor of giving the Inaugural prayers. I will never forget that. But will they apologize? Of course not. Barack Obama called that bigot 'America's Minister' which is an insult to Americans, and to ministers when he selected this hate monger at the urgings of Josh DuBois, another hate monger.
Obama has never apologized for that insulting, crass piece of self indulgence by him and his Rickypoo.
He should.

Never did get apologies for that one, did we.

One little prayer.
Just like one "narrow" case.
Finally, I won't be holding my breath waiting for the apologies for those who wanted the leader of the RCC for president or attacked other women and LGBTs for speaking the truth about what was really going on.

Some of the most ardent voices against LGBT rights and equality now pose here as champions of the cause.
Their own lack of any sense of personal accountability speaks much about their sort of politics.

If Obama includes a religion exception, he might as well not issue an order at all. After Hobby Lobby, including the exception would mean ANY contractor could claim it.

They know if they don't take the contracts, someone else will. Their own uselessness will be highlighted, the superiority of non religious social services will become clear as day.

Hobby Lobby donated some very valuable land to Warren. Warren is just being the front man for the group.

LAKE FOREST – Saddleback Church — headed by Pastor Rick Warren — has been given a 170-acre ranch in San Juan Capistrano from an Oklahoma City arts and crafts billionaire to help further Christian values by training pastors.
