To those that are angry at Hobby Lobby

if you are genuinely this angry towards Hobby Lobby the logical next step is to throw your support behind Hillary Clinton to make a Presidential run. What I have observed with DU the past few months is a huge backlash against Hillary Clinton (both rational and irrational), and yet people are saying things are hopeless for humanity and that there is a war on women. So, my question is do people really care enough to do something about it or this the latest outrage that will pass that has swept up DU into hysteria? I am voting for Hillary Clinton despite not agreeing with her on everything. And it seems like on DU any disagreement that doesn't fit the script is met with irrational hostility which is surprising to the say the least IMVHO.

People expect Hillary Clinton to be a perfect candidate but she is the best equipped for the job in my humble opinion. So, who will be voting for Hillary Clinton to be the next President of the United States? I will be.

I have to see the field of candidates before I can make decision. Anything can happen. In 2006 Obama was still the guy who gave a great speech at the 2004 convention.

10. I like to see the debates and see how they answer policy questions.

The debates will make my mind up, not any post anywhere. I like Hillary, and i like E-Dub. I like O'malley a bit too, and i wish Howard Dean would scream for us a bit. It got me excited.

No one has yet announced. I expect that quite a few will eventually declare their intentions, but AFTER the November election. In 2006, Obama was my senator but I had no idea that he would run at that point.

This dude likes the drama. Last night he said we shouldn't be so pissed at the hobby lobby decision. We should believe in the Supreme court and respect the ruling or something.

I just want to have a kick ass primary with options to chooses from. If Ew got the nomination, i'd happily vote for her. Clinton too.

I'll vote to HRC if/when she gets the nomination. Not sure how the HL decision means Clinton has to be our candidate, plenty of other Democrats have excellent voting records with regards to Healthcare and Women's issues. If they primary was held today, I'd vote for Martin O'Malley.

and people have scolded me because the avatar I use and don't understand how I can support Hillary Clinton (I am not a one issue voter). I would argue that her work as Secretary of State showed she had a level of diplomacy that elevated the the United States to a respectable status given the damage done by the previous Bush administration. Skeptical when Obama selected Hillary Clinton to be SoS but now I understand his reasoning as she dd a lot of good work.

5. Why do you keep doing this?

I resent the fact that you're now using the Hobby Lobby case as a platform to push your candidate of choice. IMHO it's disingenuous and below tacky. Yesterday it was a thread admonishing DUers about their faith in the Justice system, now this. And there's that word "hysteria" again, followed by "irrational". Oh yeah.

Y'know, my partner and I were inclined to vote for Hillary though we would also be most pleased to vote for Elizabeth Warren. But the more you post, the more you're losing our vote with such cheap tactics. Think about it.

28. I'm not understanding the "Hillary = victory for women" premise.

I'm not sure what she would bring that Warren or another candidate could not bring. I think, as far as Progressive politics is concerned, the Democratic party has a fairly deep bench; all of whom, I would suggest, would take exception to the HL ruling.

It can't be her gender acting as a safeguard to providing BC because the BC mandate was enacted by a male president.

This is not to poo-poo a Hillary candidacy. I'm not understanding the premise of the OP.

Elizabeth Warren also possesses an X-pair. And she is unencumbered by the fact her husband having signed the RFRA into law. My question to the OP is: Why Hillary over Warren or another female candidate? But, again, the mandate the OP would defend was put forward by a male president.

Reviewing the thread I see I am not the only one at a loss to understand the OP.

And breaking through the sarcasm for a minute, yeah the OP makes no sense. Clinton isn't the next logical step, the next logical step is 2014, and then the Democratic primary for 2016, and then the general for 2016.

I really don't get the dumbasses pushing inevitability for Clinton - she lost. Blows up their entire strategy. If this is what Clinton is going to run on again, we desperately need another candidate.

51. In a purely strategic viewpoint

If Clinton is the nominee, OK; but if not then those who speak of her inevitability have done the Democratic party a disservice. And that's not just about Hillary. ANY candidate who has such an air of inevitability, if they fail to secure the nomination, will hurt the party as the opposition gets to mock the "back-benchers" who ended-up prevailing.

In that same vein, those who oppose The Inevitable One (and, again, my comments are not about Hillary specifically but strategy in general) may damage that candidate if they move on to the general. The opposition will seize on every contentious word and replay it again and again and again.

I believe the true way forward is a spirited but civil debate. That alone demonstrates a good case for being entrusted with the keys to government. We should govern ourselves with the same spirit of community and respect we would want to see in society as a whole.

30. May I suggest worrying about 2014 first?

from the court house to the US House? Please?

We do not know if Clinton is running. We do not know who else is running.
Back in 2008 in my listing Obama and Clinton were my #5 and #6 picks behind Edwards, Richardson and I can't remember who else. Both were way to cozy with the corporations. Yet when Obama became the nominee I supported him 100%.

Clinton is still way too cozy with the corporations for my taste. Yet I will support her if she is the nominee.

But like many on here I would much prefer an Elizabeth Warren candidacy. She is also quite aware of the Hobby Lobby ramifications and I believe would not be too worried about hurting their feelings on anything.

There may be other candidates who will outshine Hillary. I think any serious candidate for the democratic nomination understands that this will be a major issue and understands how women feel.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This post is incredibly INSENSITIVE and poster is taunting women and DUer's who are righteously outraged over recent events in this country. Listed under "Reason for your alert" is whether a post is insensitive or otherwise inappropriate. The poster also purposely uses sexist language "that has swept up DU into hysteria" to further taunt the community. This is highly offensive and inappropriate.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Jul 3, 2014, 07:58 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't agree with the OP assertion that "if you angry at the HL decision, you must vote for Hillary"... it's a false tautology, but they have the right to post it.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: When is the misogynist MRA who admits to being a "going your own way MRA", look it up if you don't know what it is, going to get the boot from this place. How much more damage will he be allowed to inflict to women here on this site. He has also made racist posts. Please admin do something about him.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Women need to vote in the local and state elections, this is where it all starts. All the anti-abortion road block laws are coming from the republican controlled state legislatures. Women you have to vote the primaries to weed out the chaff, then stay with all the elections from the lowest to the highest level. This is for your and for your daughters. Please get in involved, if you are not registered to vote, do so right away so you can vote in November. Get in informed on what is going in your area. The religious right and the Koch brothers are now turning to state and local elections to get more of their chosen few elected. Ladies, it is time to rise up and fight back!

57. So if I understand you correctly you are voting for her because she is a woman and not

because she is the best candidate for the job? Sorry I will wait to see who all will be running, their positions and pick the one who is best for the country.

58. Er...no thanks.

The next logical step is NOT to get behind a neo-liberal.

He's doing it on purpose. He had no problem with the SC decision last night.

65. No, the next logical step is to GOTV this November

Make sure you and all your liberal-leaning friends, relatives and acquaintances are registered to vote, know where your polling places are, and get out and cast a ballot in the Fall election. If we let Congress drift even further to the right - which is what they're counting on with their voter surpression attempt - 2016 won't make a difference.

67. I suggest you try something new

Listen, read, and think about what people here have to say rather than telling us what you think we should do.
