John Oliver deserves wider exposure. Network TV.

I have Dish TV.
Periodically I get week-end 'free previews' of channels I don't subscribe to (pay for).
This past week-end and today it was HBO's channels among a few more.

John Oliver is just fucking brilliant.
Maybe he doesn't write all of his own stuff, but I suspect he does write most of it.
He has taken the Daily Show concept to a whole different level.

Go, John!

I was so proud and pleased when he ran TDS while Jon was away, and the HBO gig is awesome. arcane1 Jun 2014 #3

He's gifted in writing, delivery, and at hiring!

It was great to see the huge reception to his new show (shutting down the FCC website!!!) and the attention it is getting.

I'd like to see what he can do in a non-network situation for a while, since the others in the family are not. And we'll have Colbert replacing Letterman soon!

It is, however, a good sign that he got the job. It means that his style of humor has national appeal.

I'm making a point to acquire recordings of every TCR episode that remains

Has it's own YouTube channel.

Couldn't agree more with you on Oliver. Positively brilliant.

If you haven't seen his stand up video "Terrifying Times", I recommend it highly.

Gleaned this from a SS marriage announcement in Sunday's Times. Sorry too lazy to link.

I LOVE his show and so glad I finally remembered to DVR the series, because I kept forgetting as well.

He is brilliant as are so many of Stewart's finds. One more example of Stewart's massive and substantive and positive influence on our culture.
