Obama Flashes Vulcan Salute With 'Uhura'Obama Flashes Vulcan Salute With 'Uhura'
Nichelle Nichols, who played the character 'Uhura' in the original TV show 'Star Trek,' met President Obama in the White House back in February. But she finally received this photo in the mail yesterday, according to her Twitter feed, with the caption "Taken 2/29/12 in the Oval Office - Live Long & Prosper!" ![]() http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/obama-flashes-vulcan-salute-with-uhura

I think it was a Sith Lord - as A romulan vice president would be far to honest for the job Dick R. Cheney did when he was in office - but it would work right into the fold of what a Sith Lord could be able to do Diclotican |

One the other hand, it would have been nice to have a Vulcan President in the White House - the logic a Vulcan President have, is maybe exactly what US need this days.. Okay, like a lot of Obama's supporters, I can't help but disappointed by some of his policies decisions (though, ultimately I am going to vote for him over the crazies in the GOP).
That being said, try looking at that photo and imagining any other president looking as cool doing what he is doing (Bush, Reagan, even Clinton). |

Or look at the series Deep space 9, where Quark hold one of the more known figures.. Even tho he play as a ferrengi, he is far more kind than most ferrengis - and for some reason, he like the Federation, and the Humans.. But he is also little scared about the Humans - mostly because he know that under the ferniss of civilization, Humans can be a beast. Something he warn his nephew about, when (in Season 6) the Federations, The Klingon's and after a long while also the Romulans was fighting the Dominion, who tried to conquer the whole of the Federation.. And also harm the other greater powers who is part of the universe of Star Trek.. Diclotican |

27. The name Ferengi comes from "foreigner" in Arabic, apparently
"Ferengi" and similar terms are Arabic names for European traders, or for Westerners in general. The name is likely derived from the Arabic word faranj or ifranj, or Persian farangi, meaning "Franks". In Ethiopia, ferenj or ferenji has the same meaning, as does farang in Thai. The source of the name is likely from the Byzantine Greeks who were the Westerners' neighbors; this usage spread to the Near East, Asia, Africa and even China.[3] Greeks still sometimes use fra[n]gkoi (φράγκο?
![]() ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferengi#Etymology Think of the business practices of the British East India Company and it is a perfect fit. |

The best way to insult someone in a Vulcan stylee is to take an existing insult, and modify it so that it sounds like something a Vulcan would say. Vulcans wouldn't use foul language or slang, they would merely explain what they were going to do to you if you didn't shut up. In English: Fuck you or shut up In Vulcan: If you do not refrain from misinforming the voters due to your propensity for lying, I will be forced to remove your head and defecate into your esophageal passage. |
