He's amazingly going to do a book - signing at the North Park theater. MindPilot and I are attending. Anyone else?

(50,130 posts)If you haven't already gone to the event, please tell him that many people are grateful to him, and wish him well.
Although he probably knows that from the reaction of the audience on Bill Maher last night. Audience was noticeably in his favor.

(1,357 posts)Thats refreshing. I want to hear what he has to say tonight before I make any judgment on motives, etc. I saw Real Time last night too and was surprised to hear vocal supporters in the audience. He was awfully quiet between arguments with Paul Rieckoff (sp?).
Should be interesting!

(50,130 posts)....the audience has been squarely and noisily on his side. You should look up his debate with General Hayden.

(1,357 posts)But Greenwald did describe what happened. A lot of sputtering ensued.

(5,082 posts)The proNSA crowd only posts during weekdays. What's up with that?

(39,961 posts)Wish I could though.
As others have noticed, it's the weekend and the Pro-NSA folk don't typically hang around during such times.
Seriously, I wish I could.

(2,849 posts)What news can you share? Hope you didn't have to swear secrecy going in the door...
What is left to expose? Any hints even?
Joanie Baloney
(1,357 posts)No secrecy...no bag search...cameras were allowed.
Glenn spoke for about an hour, non-stop. No Q and A but he spoke to each person who bought a book to be signed and took photos with them. It was sold-out...about 300 people. The tickets were just 5 dollars!
He spoke about the myths regarding national surveillance; the reasons Snowden gave him in Hong Kong for whistleblowing; and he exhorted everyone to do their part in fighting our loss of privacy. He said that oppressive govts. rely on compliant citizens so everyone should become a dissident to some degree.
He bashed Hillary, Obama, the NSA, all other media, MSNBC (especially called out Lawrence O'Donnell). He did not talk about Anonymous or their threat to disrupt his book tour because of his 'sell-out' to Pay Pal's founder, Omar whatshisface. He did not reveal any further tidbits of revelations to come nor did he hint about when the next batch of documents will be published.
Does that help?
