What to do with a litter of kittens under our deck? Not our cat.

Momma cat moved in, I thought to search for bunnies. Instead she had a litter of 5 kittens. Very cute, but what should I do? We can't keep them. We travel too much. What to do?

2. Either no-kill rescue as the person above said -

or possibly a feral cat group? Maybe a google search for your area or call animal control in your area and see if they can give you some contact folks' names.

3. A free cat ad on Craigslist or a call in radio swap program

There are usually farmers who are looking. Cats come and go on the farm, I have picked up cats from such ads before.

6. Craigs list can be a very

dangerous place to give away animals. They do sick things like feed kittens to their fighting dogs. Sell them to medical research. Put them on the dinner table. I am a foster for an animal rescue and they told me about things that can happen. Feed mamma for a while and call a no-kill shelter.

4. For right now, today,

make sure Momma cat has food and clean water. She needs a lot of calories to feed those babies.

Animal control or a local veterinarian may be able to give you leads to a rescue or a shelter.

5. Be careful feeding them

Animal control around here says that if you feed it, you are responsible for it, and they refuse to take the animal without a hefty "surrender" fee.
