Bruce Braley's 'chick' ad criticized as sexist

http://onpolitics.usatoday.com/2014/06/05/braley-ernst-iowa-chick-ad/

Ok look. I want this guy to win. Where are his advisors? Why can't he make a point without being sexist? Look he already criticized the farmers and now he is going after a woman with his language. Please stop it. We need you in Washington and you can win on issues.

I saw the ad and didn't see the offense. But people love to manufacture outrage.

Ernst started with the animal metaphor ads, she has to live with it.

but when it is in US Today that is a problem. This is an easy win for us and he needs to just discuss issues. I don't know why he has to criticize the way he does. His opponent is extreme....isn't that enough to use to win?

The article cites one tweet by a University of Iowa political science professor named Tim Hagel. https://twitter.com/ProfHagle/status/474311845956689921

Here it is, in case *you* (meaning anyone) are not interested in going to the tweet link:

Imagine if a GOP candidate had used a "chick" in an ad against a female opponent. MT @TeamBraley:

I'm not seeing anyone other than this guy claiming that the ad is sexist.

As a sidenote, here is what a former student of his posted about him on the 'RateMyProffesor' website: (btw, this student obviously liked him, so I doubt he/she was attempting to tarnish his reputation by mentioning the guy's class emphasis on 'conservative political ideology').

I'd heard mixed reviews about him, mainly, he talked about conservative political ideology too often, but he was extremely balanced. CLASS IS REALLY HARD. I did all the reading and most of the study questions (study questions are essential!!!!!) and still got a bad grade. He knows his stuff. Brilliant professor, very helpful, amazing class.

Hmmm- Talk about manufactured outrage! Otoh, I hope this helps give Ernst's democratic opponent's ad more views.
