Anyone who refers to Oklahoma as "OK"...

....is spreading a right wing meme that Oklahoma is "okay".

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that Oklahoma has some room for improvement. One of those rooms would be the governor's office.

So let's not use "OK", because it encourages an unwarranted self-congratulatory complacency.

2. And don't refer to Alabama as "AL"

That's much too informal for a state of this fine Union.

26. "Ab" always made more sense, anyway

Abnormal
Abberant
Absurd
Absolutely no reason to visit
About time to rethink the whole "50 states" thing

...I was glad to get out of there. Even the wild boondocks of an Alaska fishingtown was a vast improvement

4. You haven't driven around Dallas in the last few decades, have you?

You will see plenty of bumper stickers saying "Oklahoma is NOT OK!"

6. Not in a convertible

But I'd never been to Dallas until last year when I was asked to speak at a conference.

I was at the Omni Hotel and I wanted to walk to Dealey Plaza. I asked a doorman and he gestured down the street saying, "It's easy. It's just back and to the left."

True story.

17. That isn't a short walk.

I guess it wasn't during the worst part of summer because some people would have heatstroke walking that far.

Even money says that one of the local transients asked for a hand-out on that excursion--that happens to me frequently.

Then there was that time last month that I was offered money for ahem... I was nearly broke, but I wasn't that desperate.

but one of the few Broadway songs I will hum etc is Oklahoma. I don't know why they shout OK at the end.

Kinda like Blurred Lines. ( I like the Jimmy Fallon version, I really don't know the lyrics at all. Just sounds like a Muppet song).

It's spelled ÇA and DU is supposed to be a refuge from bad French.
