Stories of Karl Rove being a child molester are untrue
That headline is an example of how you start a rumor which becomes self perpetuating. And Karl Rove is a master at it. It’s a tactic he’s been using his entire career.
His recent attack on Hillary, while ridiculous, will have many wingnuts believing she actually has a brain injury from that fall she took a while back. And it will seep through to those who pay no attention to politics. We can expect such attacks against Hillary to be launched daily now by Fox “news,” hate radio, and the rest of the Republican propaganda machine. They’re already blaming her for the kidnapping of the girls in Nigeria. Truth means nothing to Republicans. They will just make up any piece of shit and then use their echo chamber to repeat, repeat, repeat. We Dems don’t currently have the means to counter their never-ending lies. But we’d better figure out a way pretty damn soon.

Sandusky was one of Bush Sr's 1000 Points Of Light. And according to the deceased ex CIA Director William Colby in a forward to the book The Franklin Cover Up Dick Cheney was involved with pedophilia and ritual occult practices that harmed children. Read it yourself folks. The book is by Nebraska state senator John De Camp.

where you can read it, but since I don't know if they are authorized by John DeCamp, the author, I won't post them. I believe they are, because he has been very good about releasing it to get the story told, but I really don't want to risk getting banned.

12. He's planted a seed. That is what he wanted. He also wanted people to actually believe Hillary
had been in the hospital 30 days. To correct that lie, one would have to acknowledge the story and answer to it. This way he gets that out there, and either doesn't have it corrected or has it corrected and that opens up the door to legitimacy of the claim.
BTW, why in hell would a a WH reporter actually repeat the 30 day claim when asking the question? How irresponsible is that? It just goes to show the press is in the pockets of the Republican party. It's one thing to ask about Rove's insane claim, quite another to repeat something they know is a lie. |

aiding and abetting the Republican echo chamber. From the Sunday morning "news" shows, to the op-ed pages of The NY Times and The Washington Post, to the White House press corps, lies go unchallenged.
The days of Edward R. Murrow and Walter Kronkite are long gone. News has become spin and true journalism has become rare. Some of the best journalism today is found at online sites that the general public never gets to see or read. |

Well, he did go through a furry phase, but I'm pretty sure he limited that to over-18 furries. I think. It's hard to know for sure because the costumes obscure faces. And as far as I know, he's put his furry past behind him, although my friend knows a guy who sees Rove in his building sometimes and he says he did see him with a very large chipmunk recently.

28. Her fall is going to be an issue. I probably should be too.
We would have had a VP in charge for a while had she been POTUS. If she gets past the primary then her VP choice will be critical (Kerry and Biden have the gravitas, but why would Biden want to do another term as VP would boggle me, and I'm not sure Kerry would want the number 2 seat either. To bad John Edwards turned out to be John Edwards and not the guy we thought he would be.

As far as a running mate for VP, we Dems have a "deep bench" of sane, capable people. The Republican's, on the other hand, have a "deep asylum" of crazies and those who pretend to be crazy to satisfy their base of know nothings. |

36. In very close election states,
a relatively small group of (real) undecided voters could make the difference. (Ohio is a good example.)
There are millions of people in America who pay no attention to politics, but they do hear some of the Republican's endless repetition of lies. Such voters have nothing against which to measure those lies and are therefore vulnerable to thinking they may be true. And that just might swing their votes. |

Remember the male prostitute, Jeff Gannon, who visited the WH more than most of the members of Congress during W's reign? The rumor was that he was there for Rove AND W. 72. Other Examples: Karl Rove Is Not A Child Molester, As Far As I Know.
In fact...I seem to recall Hilary Clinton using THAT one against Barack Obama. Wasn't it the Clinton Campaign who leaked that picture of him in the Kenyan robes, and then when asked whether she thought he was a Muslim on 60 minutes, she replied "He's not a Muslim...as far as I know." Or "He CLAIMS he's not, and I have no reason to doubt him."
There are a few Democrats who know how to play that game, when they think it's justified. And, I hate to say it, but against today's 'Nixonland' Republicans, it's justified. The truth is that trying to COUNTER the streams of manufactured lies is a WASTE OF TIME. The only way to deal with these people is to keep them back on their heels with a stream of lies that THEY have to defend against. The best defense is a good offense. |

75. Even if we adapted their tactics,
we don't have their echo chamber. They have Fox "news," hate radio, and daily talking points that all Republicans and their pundits repeat, repeat, repeat.
All we have is MSNBC, a few liberal radio pundits, and Jon Stewart. And to make it worse, elected Dems are never on the same page. The result is that it's all but impossible to beat them at spreading lies and propaganda. The only solace I find in this is that Republicans have always been on the wrong side of history. And over time, (often a long time), we beat them. |

Back in 1860 when they were a LIBERAL party, and they had the liberal idea of ending slavery (while conservatives whined about it damaging the economy, hurting the 'job creators,' and trampling States Rights). The last remnants of the rational, liberal Republican Party vanished during the Southern Strategy of the 1960s.

97. That Hillary got paid $200,000 each for two speeches to Wall Street rich guys is absolutely true.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/11/hillary-clinton-speeches-pay_n_3582868.html
How long does it take a person earning $7.25 per hour to earn $200,000 (before taxes). 27,586.20 hours or about 13 years. How can a person who earns in one evening's speech what a minimum wage-earner earns in 13 years understand what matters to the large percentage of Americans who now earn minimum wage. Let's do the numbers again assuming a minimum wage of $15 per hour. Takes the worker 13,333.33 hours or approximately 6 years plus to earn $200,000. We have a problem. Hillary needs to demonstrate to us that her loyalties are to all of us, to those of us earning minimum wage as well as to those of us earning Wall Street millions. Considering her record, her affection for H1-B visas, her close ties to Wall Street, etc., it is going to be difficult. She talks the talk, but she has not shown that she will walk the walk. She has not strongly supported unions. On the other hand, Elizabeth Warren is a strong supporter of the middle class and knows what it is to be a struggling mother with a kid in a sub-standard day care and very little money. I support Elizabeth Warren for president. If Hillary stood up for little people and didn't just talk about the poor, if she had a background as a union organizer, or an advocate for ordinary people facing bankruptcy, if she had any of the experience that Elizabeth Warren has that is relevant to the concerns of Americans today, then I would support her. She is vulnerable to lies and gossip because people don't especially warm up to her. I'm sure she is very nice, but she does not have Bill Clinton's personality. Sorry. Gossip is horrible. But gossip is most easily believed if you don't like the person in the first place. Hillary was a good Secretary of State, but if you think she will be given credit for that, I have a bridge I would like to sell you. Hillary was a loyal wife, but if you think she will be given credit for that . . . . And then every error that Bill Clinton made, and he made some doozies like the repeal of Glass-Steagall will be held against Hillary. That's not gossip. That's the record. That's not a lie. NAFTA, Glass-Steagall, the dot.com mania, the reappointment of Greenspan, the overheating of the economy, the changes in the welfare laws that came to harm a lot of people when unemployment was high, all these things and more will be topics for partisan politics if we nominate Hillary. It may not seem fair, but it is reality. If the Republicans nominate a really bad candidate, Hillary will win. But if they nominate someone rational, it will be a tough race and Hillary could easily lose. I'm sorry to bear the bad news, but let's don't give the Republicans the chance to run on past sins. Let's run on economic issues and fairness, on what is happening to the middle class thanks to the Republicans in Congress and the Bush administration tax policies. Let's run on the misdeeds of Wall Street, not their money. |

138. four ways Democrats and progressives can challenge the talk radio lying before the 2014 elections
Their lies only work on a national scale because the left ignores 1200 coordinated lying machines reaching 50 mil a week.
1) Right wing radio has been successful because it has been ignored. Use the latest transcription software to make transcripts of the major local RW talkers available for searching and reading. Snowtape (about $30) allows recording of multiple talk radio streams. Macspeech Scribe (about $150) allows 6 different trainable voice profiles. It's not perfect but will allow searches for particular words and memes to identify when they're locally or nationally lying about your issue or candidate. For some reason snowtape sometimes won't import from the feeds usually provided by the stations but this seems to work: Plug the station call letters into http://www.radio-locator.com/, click on the station feed and it should open in itunes. In itunes click on get info, then click edit url. Copy that url and paste into the import to snowtape field. Record then export to itunes which will convert so you can open in Macspeech. There may be an easier way and other software but that seems to work. Lies and distortions can be responded to in other media, or with picketing at stations, BEFORE they hurt Democratic candidates and progressive causes. Most advertising the GOP and its candidates do is built on and reinforced by lies and distortions popularized and made acceptable with the unchallenged repetition that only talk radio is capable of. Correcting the talk radio gods and their propaganda publicly will reduce the effectiveness of those ads and the numbers of disinterested fence-sitters the dittoheads and teabaggers can mobilize on election day. 2) More than 28% of Limbaugh stations piggyback publicly funded schools. I don't think the RW radio monopoly can survive without its parasitic relationship with our institutions of higher learning. Shame colleges and universities that broadcast sports on RW radio stations. Get them to honor their mission statements and look for apolitical alternatives. The benefits those schools get from their associations with the loudest stations in the state pale in comparison to the damage RW radio has helped shills like Walker do. The RW stations and their talkers use college sports logos to boost their community credibility and attract advertisers while they help ALEC and the Koch brothers and their candidates defund and privatize public education, attack teachers and unions and Democratic candidates, and deny global warming and other science. Those stations also weigh in on elections of regents and the short lists of candidates for school presidents. The radio component of the media licensing revenue a school receives (usually packaged with all media) may be minuscule compared to total licensing revenues and schools need to be asked to reveal those details. What's the price to get a university to trash its own mission statement? The amount may be surprisingly small. 3) Support the Rush Limbaugh boycott efforts and extend it to all advertisers on right wing stations. Most stations include some innocuous and apolitical programming during the week but they are primarily part of the larger RW propaganda operation. Any damage done to progressive radio will made up for many times over as the right wing radio monopoly disintegrates and stations become available. 4) Where appropriate, include radio stations and talk show hosts in peaceful protests. For 25 years a few hundred RW talkers with big soapboxes have attacked, distorted, and sabotaged the citizen activism of millions- with little protest or acknowledgment from the 'Left' or it's organizations. Protests at state capitols are routinely minimized by the state RW stations and their carnival barkers. Those attacks can continue long after the protestors go home. Almost any major issue is appropriate, from social justice and equality, fair wages, global warming, the Keystone XL pipeline, fracking, media and election reform, voter suppression, gun control, wall street, and political corruption. All could legitimately be picketed at those giant megaphones - the true source of 'popular' power of the new irrational Republican Party. Media and politicians used to being intimidated and enabled by RW radio and its made-to-order think tank talk radio constituencies, will notice. |
