It would be illogical for the industry not to want the law approved as it institutionlizes their industry into American Society and guarantees them a massive captive clientele, thereby strengthing their lobbying/bribing grip on any future Congress.
I do believe if this is approved by the SC, universal single payer or even a strong national public option will become all the more difficult to achieve.

(5,178 posts)Just like military contractor stocks. If the corporations profits are down just arrange to kill a few people and your golden again. I imagine a whole generation of investors smiling with joy when they see the amount at the bottom of their statements. Feeling warm & fuzzy knowing that medical insurers are working hard denying health care benefits to people so they can retire in comfort someday.

Elsewhere, health care is a Human Right. Here health care is a Right of the Rich.
