The right’s election-year attack on the Affordable Care Act was supposed to be pretty straightforward: it’s big government, it raised taxes, the website didn’t work for a couple of months, and it falls under some strange definition of “socialism.”

But as “Obamacare” starts to look a whole lot better than it did a few months ago, conservatives are switching gears a bit. In fact, the new argument from the right is nothing short of amazing: conservatives are attacking the ACA for not being liberal enough.

Yesterday, for example, Freedom Partners, a political operation that enjoys financial support from Charles and David Koch, launched a new attack ad in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race, targeting Rep. Gary Peters (D). The voice-over tells viewers:
“Congressman Gary Peters says he’s standing up to health insurance companies. The truth? Peters voted for Obamacare, which will give billions of taxpayer dollars to health insurance companies.”
Got that? After years in which the right screamed at every opportunity that the Affordable Care Act was a socialized government takeover of the American health care system, these exact same conservatives now want the public to believe the exact opposite: the ACA is a sweetheart deal for the private health insurance industry that tried to kill the law before it passed.

The Koch's in particular, who have influence and connections
extending into every part of our society and world, and on
into Canada too, everywhere. Philanthropists.. uh huh.

Stir up confusion self doubt and mistrust everywhere,
infiltrate everything. Conspiracy theory? I don't think so.

One of the most important efforts in our time must be to
illuminate the lies and lying liars. Human conscience will bring
them down, but first they must be exposed, a bright light
shining, so everyone can see the deception and pollution
for themselves.

People don't even know they are there, despite how much
they affect the planet, and our lives. The brainwash is almost
a complete success.. America a giant poppy field where
everybody is well medicated and sound asleep, or watching TV.

But brainwash not quite complete. Stay awake folks. It's an
insidious thing, how it creeps everywhere.

brainwashing' or any such thing, McCain would have won twice and Mitt would be in waiting. Never fear anyone when they are in the midst of a major losing streak.
To be blunt, posts like yours could be written by their publicist.

If they were failures at brainwashing there would be no Fox news, we'd have socialism from sea-to-sea, and solar power everywhere.

You should apologize to VoiceforPeace for being so rude, and incorrect.

It's a good point -- that there is something more
powerful than evil rich people, and no need for fear.

But vigilance, watchfulness, matters a lot. Keeping
eyes open, heart intact.

..., they have the money to support doing so, and they've been spending the money to do so for at least four decades.

They used to go to great lengths to avoid attention and publicity. Fr the most part they still do, but between the scale of their political spending and efforts by activists to connect the dots of their giving/spending networks people have started to know who they are and what they do.

I also think part of it is their ages -- stepping up their political activities because they know they only have so many years left to check off their political "bucket list."
