Cop Pulls Gun on 11yr Old Black Child for Building a Treehouse

http://iacknowledge.net/cop-pulls-gun-on-11yr-old-black-child-for-building-a-treehouse/

An eleven year old African American child and his friends were held at gun point by a Georgia police officer for building a tree house in a wooded area near their home, according to local media reports.

Omari Grant and his friends were engaged in the business of childhood play, when a neighbor decided to call police because they objected to the children playing fort in the woods (give me strength!).

The situation took a dramatic turn that may scar these young boys for life.

Omari and his mother Janice Baptiste, told Channel 2’s Aaron Diamant that Henry County police officers, one with his gun drawn, circled on the boys as if arresting hardened criminals.

“I was thinking that I don’t want to be shot today, so I just listened to what they said,” Omari said

Omari said the officer holding his gun also used foul language and made him and his friends lay down on the ground.

<snip>

No arrests were made but Janice Baptiste has filed an excessive force complaint, which Henry County are investigating. The County have not yet named the officers involved.

I seen several recent videos of cops dropping the F-bomb on citizens. What's up with this?

It seems to me that if you're a cop you shouldn't be so foul-mouthed to those you protect and serve...

Even if it is done by a police officer - unless there is an arrest warrant for or probable cause to believe that there is an armed and dangerous felony suspect.

that when a cop pulled his gun there would be an inquiry - even if he didn't fire it
The came tazers - cops who were frustrated from not being able to pull their guns on people could now do some real harm
Now I think they are bored with the tazers and we are seeing an increase in police shootings

Generally they are not supposed to pull their guns unless they are preparing to shoot - with some very specific exceptions such as felony arrests or probable cause to believe that certain kinds of crimes are occurring. Very doubtful that boys cutting branches off trees would qualify.

so the cop wanted to make sure he wasn't sniped before he could stop them

Cops police report: Stopped hostile gang of thugs from building a snipers nest without firing a shot, let them off with a warning

Tell me this isn't the reasoning -- and I use that term guardedly -- that led this officer to harass this youngster.
