DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) - It's a story that's becoming too common in Detroit, a mob attacks a man at a west side gas station. This time, the victim, Eric Miles, 38, did not survive.

Click on the video player to watch Randy Wimbley's report.

Family members tell us Miles was beaten up and crushed from the waist down after he was attacked and run over by a car outside a Valero gas station. His loved ones are looking for answers. Miles leaves behind two children and a number of heartbroken relatives. Police have spent hours going through surveillance video. So far, no arrests. Anyone with information on this deadly beating should call Detroit Police or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.

It's time to end the silence on violent crimes, and to start putting killers away from society.

years ago here. A woman went to confront people over her daughter being bullied. she ended up being beaten to death in the middle of the street, in broad daylight, by a mob of a few dozen people (while her daughter watched on in horror), and witnessed by many more.

amazingly, despite dozens of witnesses saw this beating, in broad daylight, the police could not find a single witness to this horrible murder. not one. they were on TV begging for witnesses to step forward; none did.

And then make it a real life sentence for murdering innocents. An incremental approach to chaos appears to be where some are headed. It might be time to tighten the leash on sanity before it is lost forever.
