In which direction would you like to see the Democratic party move?

I've seen a lot of head-whacking these last few weeks between I guess "factions" on DU, mostly about the personal politics of posters vs. the party's stance. So I've gotten curious about this question.

DU, if the Democratic party were to shift its positions, what sort of shift would you favor?

poll after poll, from what I've seen, indicates that the VAST majority of DUers lean solidly to the left.

The question is not about being more liberal or conservative, it is about how to achieve certain goals.

Rather than the two parties that now run the establishment.

As we've seen with the recent government shutdown and unprecedented obstruction in Congress, it's too easy for a small minority to wreak havoc on our government and totally paralyze it.

I'm not sure why so many folks worship a piece of paper written by white men over 200 years ago. I've even seen some people here so very willing to lick the feet of the founding fathers. Those guys despised women and enslaved blacks.

Fuck 'em.
