I am sincerely happy that 12 Years a Slave won BP, AND....

I am over the moon that Alphonso Cuaron won Best Director for GRAVITY. The man is a truly an auteur. With Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Little Princess, and Children of Men, I knew he was one to watch. He also turned the Harry Potter series on its ear when he directed the third movie and set the tone for all the subsequent films.

3. I own Children of Men. It is an amazing movie that

I seem to watch once a year. A very powerful movie--and a connection to 12 Years A Slave.

6. The 3rd Harry Potter film is perfection. It's my favorite

I also really liked Y Tu Mama Tambien.

I don't know what the video is because it says it's been disabled.

7. I was hoping Cuaron would win. His creativity is

unique. I loved how he handled HP3.

I won't say that any of the Best Actress nominees didn't deserve it more, but I wanted Bullock to win. Her work in Gravity was exceptional, IMO. It takes real talent to convey the panic, loneliness, grief, resolution, and courage when acting solo, and no real set to inspire. She talked about how it was such an exasperating experience, being manuevered by puppeteers she couldn't see, yet had to work with. She has spoken of how this project has changed her.

I really loved Gravity.
