just spent the afternoon phone banking for Wendy Davis

Purpose is to drum up interest in her candidacy, get voters to the polls for Tuesday's primary and fine tune our county database. Tomorrow I will be hitting the local soccer fields to register hispanic voters and get them into our County GOTV database. As precinct chair my goal is to double the number of raw votes the Democratic candidate got in my precinct in 2010. The Repubs will still win my precinct. But if my work pays off they will win with 55 percent instead of 72 percent. If that same ratio shift happens in every Texas precinct Wendy will win.

politics is the art of controling your environment. If I can get Wendy 45 percent in this red precinct in this reddest of counties and others do the same in theirs. This red state can become purple. We haven't had a precinct chair at all here in almost 20 years. I intend to take the position seriously and do what I can to control my environment.

Don't cut yourself short, though. You're doing great! Now keep on going. Do you wear your pink tennis shoes? I don't live in Texas, but I got mine last weekend and I can't tell you how much attention they attract. At least 4 people commented on them when I went to the Dr yesterday and I told them why I'm wearing them!

a mayor of the city of Stamford. He won, but it was close, dammit.

I had called also for Ned Lamont for Senator to replace Lieberman. That didn't make it but that was because the people (Dems) didn't know the whole story on Lieberman. But that was 2006...

Knocking doors is the best way to increase support, but phone-banking comes in a decent second. (Even though the phone response rate is much lower, you can make more.)

I hope you go back. I'd love to see Texas turn purpley-blue.

Lots of non answers. With the database updates we eliminated a lot of bad numbers. Actually got about 50 people on the phone personally. Mostly nice thank yous a handfull of already voted for her another half dozen will vote for her on tuesday only two go to hells. Remember the point of this phone bank was really to update our database for November GOtV.

I really wish people overall would just be courteous. It is such a shame. How hard would it have been for them to say, "Thank you for calling but I am voting Republican." I mean really…..Republicans can be the rudest people on Earth and yet they feel superior for some reason.

Our biggest city has a lesbian mayor who had to go to another state to get married. We have a GOP candi date for gove who as attorney general has vowed to fight for marriage bigotry. We have an ever expanding latino population that the GOP wants to make it hard for them to vote. YA BASTA.

...Texans care. They're likely not sitting around wondering about that in relation to some hypothetical run for the Presidency.

Democrats that disagree with Democrats on fundamental issues are called Republicans. Apparently this is something you cannot understand.

I don't care what kind of verbal gymnastics you use to justify this, it simply will not float. My guess is you are mischaracterizing Dean's position. And it is no surprise.
