When the heck did saltines become round?

Went shopping and all the saltines boxes are ALl round!!!! When did that happen? I loved the square. Ha ha the box is still square, the contents are now round. Sorry, wording sounded strange.

3. I know!

I was surprised, too. Some stores still stock the square ones, but you have to look hard for 'em.

7. seriously? Its news to me

I have not had them for years, but they were always square when I used to eat them. Hmm, wonder why they changed the shape.

11. it is just a creative way to give you less product for the same money....

in a square box the same size so you don't notice that you just got ripped off.

16. Exactly. A round cracker with diameter X

is smaller than a square cracker with sides measuring X.

13. I noticed that the square ones are smaller than they used to be.

I swear, the cracker aisle has become a "no-blink" zone. The wheat thins etc. come in smaller and smaller boxes.

I also noticed that cans of chili are now 14 oz.

19. It's a ripoff

The square ones filled the box, edge to edge and corner to corner.

The round ones leave dead space that used to be filled by saltine crackers.
