43 House Republicans Are Suing President Obama For Being The President of the United States

Yet Another Not An Onion Article of the Day: 43 House Republicans Are Suing President Obama For Being The President of the United States, Instead of Passing Actual Legislation That Could Help Millions Of People

Forty three House Republicans are sponsoring a bill that if passed would force the House to sue President Obama for behaving like a president.

According to The Hill, “Forty-three Republicans have cosponsored the resolution since Obama’s State of the Union address, where he threatened to enact policies if Congress didn’t act. The “Stop This Overreaching Presidency (STOP)” measure, introduced by Rep. Tom Rice (S.C.), now has 104 co-sponsors, including Senate GOP hopeful Reps. Jack Kingston (Ga.), James Lankford (Okla.), Steve Stockman (Texas), Paul Broun (Ga.), Steve Daines (Mont.) and Phil Gingrey (Ga.).”

The House Republicans are upset because Barack Obama had the nerve to act like a president. They are angry that he delayed the employer mandate, implemented the DREAM Act for the executive branch, let people keep their substandard health insurance policies, and ended work requirements for welfare recipients.

Courts have ruled for decades that presidents have the constitutional power to delay the implementation of a law. Like all presidents, Obama’s executive orders only cover the executive branch. President Obama didn’t implement the DREAM Act for all of the country, just for the executive branch.

1. The problem with the clowns in the GOP is real simple.

There's a black man in the White House and he's NOT the butler.

They can say whatever they want but that's the real reason behind their opposition.

6. It's even worse really.

It's just that they're not in the White House. While there is obviously the racial element to it, after what was going on in the 90's and how things have evolved now, anyone who isn't a Republican would have this thrown at them constantly. He gets it worse in the code words and so forth and I'm not denying the racial element, but I'm convinced it's more than that now.

40. Agreed - it's not just racism. They do this to any Democrat

If Hillary had won, it would be all out sexism, but even with that it's still about anyone who ISN'T a Democrat.

If the next Democrat is a white male things won't be any different. The 90's were when it started getting really obvious.

7. I was just asking the other day how these totally insane individuals keep getting elected...

I worked for my Democratic congressman on both of his campaigns. He's intelligent, serious, a huge supporter of vets and farmers (there are a lot of them around here) and has ideas I support. But the first time he ran (to replace Kirsten Gillibrand) he won by the smallest margin of anyone in the House and the last time he lost to a teabagger.

and respect for anything. It is a scorched earth policy but they are nothing more than evil little preschooler's with a book of matches in a sandbox and no way out.

Their intent is truly evil in wishing to bring down this president, but their impotence to actually do anything with that rage borders on comical for me.

42. US Republicans create ugly and divisive stereotypes for everyone they oppose...

They have to. They have no rational policies and there is no good reason for an average person to vote for them.

But they are not laughable; they are dangerous; they will take even more control of the country if rational people don't buckle down.
