3. So very sad....She was (inside)
She was one-of-a-kind. I never knew a livelier, more vivacious, kind, warm, outgoing woman in the world of politics.
I feel so sad for Fritz Mondale. He's had to bury his child (Eleanor) and now Joan, in the last two and a half years. I think often about those old days of Fritz Mondale, Hubert Humphrey, Fred Harris, Frank Church...and I can't help but wonder where the public servants like them have gone. Interestingly, all those people I just mentioned had strong and wonderful wives. RIP, Joan Mondale. A great lady. |
