Italy: Giant boulder obliterates home

Tramin, Italy —

In what looks almost as if it's part of a bad Hollywood disaster movie, video taken from a drone shows the stunning damage created by a humongous boulder in Northern Italy.

Three gigantic boulders broke free near the town of Tramin and caused millions of dollars in damage according to the South Tirol News.

One of the enormous rocks that broke free from a rockslide tumbled down the cliff and left a trail of destruction, smashing through a 300-year-old barn.

Amazingly, no one was injured in the destruction. Overhead footage shows one of the boulders coming to a rest just feet away from a home and nearby car.

it's happened before! There was another boulder about the same size just a few meters further along, that looked like it had been there for a while. I just hope they didn't have any animals in that barn that got crushed. The story doesn't seem to mention that, just that no humans were injured.

Their vineyard has a hell of a lot of damage to it

it looks like emergency crews have built a berm around the back side of the power tower. Good idea

And it does look like in the one that stopped on their doorstep that it almost bounced into that position. There's no furrow in the ground like there was up to the berm at the road.
