Nothing stuck and the questions kept coming, even as he easily won a second term in 2012. There was the long New Yorker article in 2011 about the difficulty of relying on confidential informants for police work, and that included details about Grimm’s time at the FBI, including how the now-congressman pulled out a gun in an altercation at a nightclub, only to return a few hours later, brandish the weapon again, and instructed that “all the white people get out of here.”

Then there was the report that one of Grimm’s business partners from an energy concern in Texas was convicted of stealing $2 million from customers. News that the securities firm where he worked after his FBI gig was “sanctioned repeatedly by regulators for gouging customers.” His health restaurant was being sued for paying employees off the books and below minimum wage.

There was the time he got into a nearly physical confrontation with a voter who disagreed with him at a supermarket. Another nearly physical fight with some hecklers at a Memorial Day parade Bill de Blasio, then NYC’s public advocate and now its mayor, said at the time that Grimm was “doing the scandal variety show. Always a new one to look at every week.”

The reason Grimm threatened to break in half television reporter Michael Scotto was become, Scotto, who works for the local cable news station NY1, asked Grimm after the State of the Union address about a scandal that has been dogging him for over a year. It concerns Rabbi Pinto, who provided the gateway to Grimm’s massive fundraising before his first run for office. According to several reports, Grimm promised one of Pinto’s top deputies help with his immigration issues if the aide helped Grimm skirt campaign finance laws. According to the allegations Grimm more than once accepted cash-stuffed envelopes, and the FBI and the House Ethics Committee are investigating. And two weeks ago, federal agents arrested another one of Grimm’s associates, a Texas woman accused of funneling thousands of illegal campaign contributions to him.

His official bio states he dropped out of college after freshman year & enlisted in the USMC. So what college? What was his rank in the USMC? His bio says he "served in the Persian Gulf War". In what capacity did he serve?

Was he ever married? I found references to his fight with "the husband of his girl friend" and to a "former girlfriend":

During his campaign for Congress, Grimm was publicly chastised by the F.B.I. for improperly using Bureau imagery in his ads. An F.B.I. spokesperson later informed me that Grimm’s repeated contention that he was “the first undercover agent on Wall Street” was incorrect.

He landed on the Times again, this time on page A1. The deeply reported story digs into the Congressman’s checkered background in business, uncovering, among other damning facts, that:

Grimm has obscured a portion of his biography in which he worked for Whale Securities, a Wall Street firm which “ran into problems with regulators and customers.”

Grimm’s partner in a Texas real-estate development, a former F.B.I. agent himself, was under indictment for racketeering and fraud. He was convicted, and sentenced to twelve years in prison. Grimm later employed the same man again.

After opening a restaurant in Manhattan, Grimm was sued for cheating workers; that suit hasn’t been resolved. He had also failed to carry workman’s-compensation insurance.

Don't quote me please but.... has anyone noticed that while NY-1's Michael Scotto seems like a nice young man his Uncle is Anthony Scotto, feared Gambino boss and the King of the NY waterfront for many years.

Whilst Michael is (according to my sis at NY-1) a very nice and shy type I wonder if the other side of the family is going to be as easy going towards thug vermin, Grimm. Whom by the way (as a former security type and bouncer) definitely exhibiting Juicer symptoms. Brow looking overgrown and the overgrown muscularity of the upper body. Scotto's (Anthony) daughter was a long time reporter on CBS Rosanna Scotto, was a longtime WABC reporter.
