1. Rafa had serious back problems

Wawrinka was one lucky guy here.

2. I think Wawrinka had trouble adjusting once Nadal's painkillers kicked in

You could tell he took a bit off when Nadal came back from the injury timeout, and then as Nadal got feeling better he had a hard time kicking it back up.

But that 12-point stretch from triple break point in the first set through the first two games of the second was amazing.

3. Rafa doubled over just like Serena in the first set

and I knew his back was the problem.
As the Emcee said, Wawrinka beat Novak and now Rafa so good for him.

Sorry about Nadal and his back but his style of play always said he would not have the longevity without body problems.

Stan won, Stan has been a hard worker for a long time and he made it happen. He won.
