Can I have a hands up, from the females that are married

That married a wonderful man, that did not want you to be on birth control. Did not want you to get your tubes tied, or your uterus removed, and be on HRT! Got his Vas defrens cut, to prevent all birth control.

My husband didn't want to go through any of that.

Granted, I'm healthy and have no woman problems. Thank our creator!!! I have a grandma, a mother, a sister that had problems, and had to get their urterus' removed. My other sister had her tubes tied, and has problems since then, 13 years later.

I applaude every man that makes this decision. My husband thought it was worth it, since I gave birth. Also, we didn't want to have another kids.

We trust each other completely.

1. My husband did. I consider it a very loving gesture that he would do that for me.

Oddly enough my father did it for my mother and he is one of those fundies who believe that single women shouldn't take birth control and that women should be home raising children. I have asked him repeatedly what he would have thought about someone telling him he was not allowed to have a vasectomy. Silence every time. He has no answer for it.

2. Basically, the same story

plus I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and almost died. Mine was 30 years ago, and HORROR, my husband is a Republican too! We agreed to his vasectomy before we married in 1974 and had our 2 kids, whatever their genders (two daughters).

He says his vasectomy was one of the best life decisions he ever made, and I agree with him. A few days on the couch with painkillers and a bag of frozen peas = an entire lifetime of freedom for both of us.

It has been a great privilege to not have to be on hormonal birth control over the course of our marriage, and I am incredibly grateful to him for that.

Now, unfortunately, my own awful inherited "female problems" meant that I already have had ovarian surgery, and I think it is very likely that I will have to have a hysterectomy too in the near future. Ah well. These things happen in life. The vasectomy was still awesome!

4. My SO had a vasectomy. We were 39 when our only

child was born. Two years later we declared her fabulous and "broke the mold". Best decision for birth control ever. I have no patience for men who won't have the procedure done.

However, he knew I was finished after the birth of our second child. He never said a word of reproach about my decision, held my hand the whole time and was wonderful.

I chose to take the plunge because I knew I was done but I also knew he would have loved more kids. I told him that if/when I ever pre-deceased him, he was free to re-marry and have more kids. I wanted to preserve that option for him.

We too have reveled in the freedom of NOT having to worry about birth control all these years. What a pleasure...

6. Mine did.

I delivered our youngest at a Catholic hospital so of course, a tubal was out of the question. When I asked my obstetrician if we should go to another hospital in a few months for a tubal, he said, "Nope. Have your husband get a vasectomy. It's cheaper and it's a lot easier than a tubal would be for you."

So, without any hesitation, he did.

7. Once my wife..

.. gave me 2 sons I was done. Snip job was not fun but compared to giving birth quite the picnic. No regrets.

I was starting to have problems with hormonal birth control and he did it in a heartbeat. Neither of us wanted kids and it's been so wonderful not to have to worry about birth control. Freedom!

He's a wonderful and precious man. He was well worth the long wait it took for me to find him.
