Somber, hopeful 'last party' held for 5-year-old Payton Benson

Omaha bid a formal farewell to Payton Benson, the 5-year-old girl killed last week by an errant bullet.
A church service, called "A Celebration of Life" instead of a funeral, was both somber and hopeful.
"I just can't give up now," sang the child's cousin.
Payton's mother, Tabatha Manning, thanked the crowd of about 300 gathered at Clair Memorial United Methodist Church at 55th Street and Ames Avenue.
