1. Check for updates on the Cheeto shortage before you go

You may need to bring your own munchies.

9. I hadn't thought about that

Most hotels are non smoking (so I assume that applies to canabis as well) What are the rules there on public consumption like balcony of the hotel or poolside? Parks? I guess I could invest in a vaporizor so as not to stink up the room.

14. i'd be curious to know. they may actually have special areas. since it's legal.....

i would instinctively ask for a non-smoking room....but given the legal opportunity.......

16. Don't bet on it. Smoking in public spaces is illegal and even many downtown Denver hotels do not

allow smoking (anything) on balconies.

There have already been some incidents where pot tourists have been tossed out of their rooms for doing so without checking first. The Warwick Hotel downtown is one that will evict you.

19. I feel like I should look into getting a vaporizer but they are pricey.

and I have already shelled out a couple hundred for my certification (I'm in Michigan a medical marihuana state.) and then half that donated to my caregiver (you know, buying weed). I feel bad throwing any more money at it at this point but it is nice not being a criminal. At the state level, anyhow.

11. Allow yourself plenty of time to get through security on return flight

Some years ago we almost missed a flight out of Denver because it took
more than an hour to get through security.

12. You need to consider....

lighting up in a public place is still prohibited, and many hotels still ban smoking of any kind, however, short-term apartment rental sites such as airbnb.com already have many listings that specify things like “Pot Tourists Welcome!”

Seek out your lodging first and don't assume... For some reason, the rest of the nation has gotten the impression that EVERYONE has both embraced smoking pot and is indulging themselves. That could not be further from the truth...

I have no problem with pot legalization and voted for it, but being one who is constantly fighting weight gain, it would not be my personal "cup of tea".
