You're right - he's got issues like his opposition to the Civil Rights Act, his opposition to abortion, his support for bringing back the gold standard, his wish to dismantle social safety nets...

But he's for legalizing drugs, he's opposed to civil-rights-destroying stuff like NDAA, and he's been against the wars in the Middle East since the beginning.

Which is an improvement over everyone else the GOP has brought to bat for them. Still won't have me voting Republican, but I'll give him credit.

The bulk of research doesn't support the idea that unpasteurized milk provides any health benefits that pasteurized doesn't.

Or what?

I'm not so clear that science thinks all that much of enzymes.

However, many people who are lactose intolerant find they CAN use raw milk dairy products as well as goats milk products which is supposed to be much closer to human.

Just telling you what I've read.

When I was young I drank raw milk whenever I was at my grandparents farm. I'm sure anyone on a farm with cows can still do the same.

They just can't sell or buy raw milk for the purpose of drinking.

Telling the teabaggers that drinking raw milk is a right the federal government doesn't want for the public might be a good way to winnow out the crazies.

If you can't sell or buy raw milk, you have to live on a farm to get it. That's NOT full allowance of drinking it. That means the RIGHT to do so rests only with those who already have access.

Didn't think so.

I find the constant Republican diatribe against regulations to be idiotic. THEY may be willing to take all kinds of crazy and wacky risks with their health, lives, safety, etc. but some of us actually care about ours and like our milk to be safe to drink, our workplace to be safe, our cars and highways and roads safe to drive, our appliances safe to use, etc. Do they really value their lives and the lives of their families and fellow citizens so little that they would completely dismantle any and all regulations (rhetorical question)?

The federal govt says its unsafe BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE! Without federal regulations banning such contaminants thousands of people would die every year just because they had the audacity to eat some food.

It happened in the Middle East; I don't know whether the dangers are the same in America.

I suppose people have the right to drink what they want; but people should have basic consumer protection about what's *sold* to them.

It's not illegal in this state.

And the raw milk comes from an apparently clean manufacturer, which greatly reduces the risk of harm, as the biggest problem leading to the pasteurization of milk came from the unsanitary conditions milk was harvested in.

Although it would make sense to regulate the cleanliness and working conditions of production to greatly reduce the risk of any harmful stuff being present in the milk. Which is something Ron Paul would be against.

Her anti-regulation daddy found this farm by Vancouver WA that sold the stuff. Several people became very ill.

I'm sorry mr. Grinch, but sometimes big bad, nasty, evil-minded government must step in and REGULATE for the public good.

The problem with Mr. Paul is rather than let an American buy a milk cow and do what the fuck they want with the milk, he wants to de regulate every fucking thing in America. He is way too Anti-government involvement for me.

I didn't notice any difference whatsoever in flavor. I definitely would not drink raw milk I had to buy. That would be stupid. You would have to pay more for something that is no better tasting at best and at worst could kill you.
