It's Official - Only an Idiot is Against Legalized Marijuana...Here's Exhibit A!

When it comes to recreational marijuana, Nancy Grace is a bit of a buzz kill.

The television personality paid a visit to CNN's Brooke Baldwin to speak about the legalization of pot in Colorado.

Grace is not a fan of the law, telling Baldwin she thinks that legalizing marijuana for recreational use is a "horrible idea." Grace said that she wouldn't want anyone on pot to take care of her kids or drive a cab. She then went for the jugular, claiming that anyone who disagreed with her was "lethargic, sitting on the sofa, eating chips ... fat and lazy."

"Marijuana is a topic of significant public discourse in the United States, and while many are familiar with the discussions, it is not always easy to find the latest, research-based information on marijuana to answer to the common questions about its health effects, or the differences between Federal and state laws concerning the drug. Confusing messages being presented by popular culture, media, proponents of “medical” marijuana, and political campaigns to legalize all marijuana use perpetuate the false notion that marijuana is harmless. This significantly diminishes efforts to keep our young people drug free and hampers the struggle of those recovering from addiction."

"With respect to medical marijuana, you know I think that we have had a lot of rhetoric and the federal government has been very intent upon trying to prevent states from being able to offer that as an option for people who are in pain. I think we should be doing medical research on this. We ought to find what are the elements that claim to be existing in marijuana that might help people who are suffering from cancer and nausea-related treatments. We ought to find that out. I don't think we should decriminalize it, but we ought to do research into what, if any, medical benefits it has."

their constituents are more conservative than they actually are...has to do with the vaccum that is Washington, I think, what are considered liberal views are in reality centrist, like universal healthcare, but the media portrays that as extreme left even though a majority of people are in favor of it.

Presidential candidate are idiots, it makes it hard to then turn around and be so gung-ho to support them. Basically we end up falling back on the lessor of two evils argument.

I really wouldn't want anyone "on" pot or alcohol taking care of my kids either. Sobriety would be a requirement for that. Why does she think individuals would be smoking a joint right before they came to her house to watch her kids. Alcohol is legal, does she assume those watching her kids are drunk?

Wed Jan 8, 2014, 09:35 PM

There is a reason neither Nancy Grace or Bill O'Reilly got high in high school or college.

Because NO ONE THAT GOT HIGH, WANTED TO GET HIGH WITH THEM!

I don't smoke these days because I have a CDL and I am subject to random testing. I don't want to lose my job or career, so I don't partake anymore. Haven't regularly for almost 30 years. But I, like many who were/are like me, knew a bunch of people when we were younger that were total buzzkills. The last thing me and my friends wanted to do was get high with a buzzkill. We all know the type. Snotty attitude, looking on with disgust. Highly opinionated to the point of making it seem as if they know all about what they are doing, when they have never 'done' before.

Just get the fuck away from me, asshole!

The smug, bullshit attitude the likes of the O'Reilly's and Grace's of the world take is just a result of the fact that no one ever got them stoned. If they had ever spent 4 solid hours laughing their asses off with their best friend, and then the next 4 hours having the deepest, most sincere discussion they had ever had, they might....maybe...juuuust might...understand the appeal.

And afterwards, wake up with no hangover!

In light of all the threads lately in GD and the current "Alert Status" as it were, I am going to stick my neck out here and say....

Fuck Nancy Grace. Fuck her sideways. And fuck Bill O'REILLY as well. Fuck him sideways.

And Nancy Grace is my age, for fucks sake! I'm older than her by 5 months! O'Reilly's ten years older than I am. How the fuck did he dodge Viet Nam, again? If he had gone, he might just be a toker.

Or dead.
