http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/03/15/texas-man-allegedly-killed-soldier-for-not-believing-in-god/Can being an atheist in America get you killed? If police in the small Texas town of Petrolia are to be believed, the answer to that question is yes.
Officials in Clay County, Texas revealed this week that human remains uncovered near the Oklahoma border last month were those of Spc. Jose Ramirez, an El Centro, California native who went missing from Fort Sill, Oklahoma more than seven years ago. A former friend of Ramirezs, 30-year-old Justin Green, was charged with the murder in February.

I have to wonder how many more murders got covered up because it had to do with Christians punishing non-believers.
Kind of reminds you of the Muslim extremists doesn't it?

(36,281 posts)Once one crosses the threshold where invisible people approve of killing others, the delusions become pathological. Just sayin'.
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)But according to our faultless DU juries, naming broad-brush smears for what they are is forbidden, while making same is allowed. What a fine, progressive board we have here.

(624 posts)gratuitous
(82,849 posts)But per DU's faultless jury system, that's as much as I'm allowed to say, because calling something what it patently is offends the tender sensibilities of people who might otherwise be discomfited. So sorry, you diaphonous little flower.

(37,748 posts)Deuteronomy has three distinct and separate audiences-- the tribe of Levites (the priests/lawgivers), the twelve tribes as a whole (Judaism), and gentiles.
One must be very careful to note which specific passage is addressed to which specific audience.
If you need to look it up, and all...

(6,785 posts)It wouldn't surprise me a bit if there were many that had.
It's not like there haven't been a bunch of other minorities murdered that were covered up for as long as humanly possible.
