A Lot of Expectations For 2014.
OK, 2014. A lot of people have a lot of expectations of you. For my part, I hope 2014 finally brings hope and economic recovery for the rest of us, an increase in rational, reasonable and respectful discourse, key discoveries in medicine and science that finally address issues like cancer and Alzheimer's and energy production and that people finally choose to work together for common cause instead of allowing themselves to be set against each other by those who seek to profit from the resulting strife.
However these lofty ideals shake out, I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and peaceful love-filled 2014. I hope those of you who are looking for work find fulfilling, meaningful employment, I hope those of you who are alone find somebody to fill your life and heart, I hope that those of you who suffered through trial and tribulation in 2013 find respite and relief in 2014. I will not pray these things, as there doesn't seem to be anyone listening and if there is then they don't seem to care enough to do anything about it. It is up to us to make our lives and this world what we want it to be. May we find the will and strength and intelligence this year to make it so.
